Tim Lamb will be holding his cards very close to his chest but at his presser he doesn’t sound like he is laser focussed on Reid

”west coast have the golden ticket” very happy with 6 and 11 if we can get a bit higher etc

It’s at 3.26 of the attached

what do you think?

Pavlich was so good, shame he was in WA for his whole career. Probably missed out on a bit of deserved love

An absolute gun.

Def didn't get te credit he deserved here in Vic.

Would be right up there in my all time list of best players I've watched play

9 picks over national/rookie draft or perhaps a delisted free agent plus spot held over for a pre-seasom supplemental selection.

They have 5 first rounders then picks 57 and 82.

Based on that alone, can’t see them happily giving up all those late first rounders. Wouldn’t se surprised to see them collect a few rejects like Mathieson.

The reality is we are no chance of getting pick 1 without North providing us pick 2 or 3, and North want Reid as much as any club.

The Harley Reid dream is over as far as I'm concerned. A deal between WCE and North will get done.

The AFL has engineered it, with free picks flying to Arden street.

Extended highlights. Massive props to the person that's been putting all these draft videos together.

This one is slightly different in that the video is broken down by skillset eg. Marking, contested work etc..

Yep, he's good :)

No wonder, in June, we flagged our wish to have him.

His handball creativity reminds me of Oliver's first few years

Reid is an amazing prospect

There was a great premiership coach who believed kicking on your opposite foot was highly overrated.

His stoppage work is a cross between Neale and Trac and disposal akin to Oliver. Smart footballer. I think he'll be a great player and given his style will quickly rise in the AFL ranks and hopefully displace all the talk around N.Daicos sooner rather than later.

No left foot. It's a huge risk for WCE to ignore the substantial offers being made for pick 1.

Daicos is a beauty, unfortunately he has to play for C/wood.

A clear run with injury and Reid will be up there no doubt.

Harley Reid, a highly anticipated draft prospect in the AFL, is almost certain to play for West Coast in 2024. Rival clubs are racing to offer the Eagles an out-of-this-world deal to trade the No.1 draft pick and get first access to Reid, who is seen as a clone of three-time Norm Smith medallist Dustin Martin. The Eagles have not had any proposals from other clubs that were yet to catch their eye, despite several being interested.

The picks only trade period ends on Friday, leaving only opening draft night on November 20 for a deal to go through. North Melbourne and Melbourne have been the key players offering at least two deals to get a trade done with the Eagles, including an offer of pick 2 and two of their late first-round selections (15, 17, or 18) for 1 and 23.

Melbourne have also come hard for the pick, putting forward 6, 11, 42 and a future first-rounder for just pick No.1.

Both deals have not made the Eagles move, making it more likely than unlikely that the wooden spooners will hold onto the pick. Tongala prodigy Reid is almost certain to head West, having long been touted as the best prospect in this year's draft. Reid will automatically sign a three-year deal instead of the previously normal two-year contract under the new CBA rules, giving West Coast strong bargaining power should he request a trade back to Victoria.

This will be the third time the Eagles have used the No.1 pick, having previously picked up dual premiership player Drew Banfield (1992) and former All-Australian ruckman Michael Gardiner (1996). However, the Eagles are likely to buck the minor trend unless they pull a shock move and pick Tigers utility Daniel Curtin with the first pick in the draft.

Curtin is almost certain to be picked inside the first half a dozen selections and was invited to the first night of the draft alongside Subiaco forward Koltyn Tholstrup.

Would like to think we could do a reverse Luke Jackson for Reid end of 2027. My guess is that some Melbourne club will make the mega offer. He could be the first $2M a year player. If he lives up to the hype he'll easily command 6 x $1.6+ in 2027

He's from country Victoria and is a Geelong supporter. Will likely be down at the cattery in a few years time and handed the keys to the city.

Not only that, Reid's fend-offs are more like Harmsey's than Dusty's - HUGE RISK!

Given that article that WC will keep 1, makes me think they are certain to trade it.

IMO, the key is whether WC believe Curtin will be there at our pick 6.

The Hawks and North possibly, hold the key. If WC believe they won’t take Curtin, I believe we will get 1, if we are prepared to sell the farm.

TBH, I would keep 6 and 11 and take Curtin and whoever we rate at 11.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
