The phone number advertised at the ground would have sorted them out if rung. No reason to put up with that rubbish. Good banter is fine but personal abuse is just not on.

I’m not so sure it does. We went to the police as they were right near our seats to kick a couple of disgusting Collingwood supporters out for abusive language and threatening behavior and the best the police would do is warn them.
Fair to say things didn’t get any better after that.

I was waiting to sort them out after the game by pointing to the scoreboard 😂😂😂

Had this terrible Melbourne supporter (4 of them but one was really a nutcase) in front of me who was already half under the weather before the game and after 6 cans was getting worse. Turning around really in my face and although none of you know me I hardly yell at the footy, too involved in who is playing where and the tactics of the game.

Would stand up and yell things like, the premiership is not played in June, colliwobbles (sigh), losers, we are the champions and more that I can't remember. I was so ready to respond but only to told him to sit down as I couldn't see and also my grand-daughter told me not to respond.

I so hate Melbourne, have never been to a game against them when I haven't had those type of supporters around me."

Wow he/she should think themselves lucky.

I've heard alot worse than that, even from our supporters

Actually the worst language ive heard post the 2006 final against the Saints was two youngish (fried!??) Demon fellas behind me in M3 or may have been on the border (M4) a few years ago pre covid.

The worst i've ever heard were the Saints standing room squad in the southern stand in that 2006 eleimination (of Grant Thomas) final.

My ears were bleeding by the third but for some reason they dissipated into the night about 20 minutes into the last haha.

Three of them left earlier than that courtesy of the Victorian constabulary.

That just makes their late charge in the last minute even more delicious! Imagine the roller-coaster ride that dude would have been on!

tbh I found Pies supporters to be quite tame yesterday. comparative to what we're used to. they seemed quite humbled and accepting of the kids. almost praising. seems they kind of expected that one.

During my taxi driving days when I was writing grate Litracha on the side - I still do - I picked up 4 ladies from Elizabeth Street entrance of Flinders St Station on a Saturday morning. They were off to Victoria Park, yep, the footy.  Off we took, up Elizabeth street and I had to do a hook right hand turn at La Trobe. Traffic towards the Market was heavy, and just as the light changed to amber I set off to turn and a dude ran the light - he was hanging out for his Bratwurst at the food stall, no doubt - and subsequently blocked all traffic travelling east on La Trobe. I muttered Knuclbuckle, an f where the b now stands. We get to the Members Entrance at Victoria Park - memories floating through my brain, going to cricket practice there when I lived in Northcote, watching Collinwood gobble us alive at Victoria park, Weidemann sending Owen Zink into Alpha Centauri in his first game, in 1964, watching a Geelong  v Colli Wobbler game later that year, a blind man being pushed by his friend to the front row, muttering Blind man, Blind Man, everybody standing aside to let them pass, then in the first quarter, play is on the members goal square and blind man gets up from his seat on the fence and points to the opposite goal where someone has dropped someone behind play...

Anyway, the Ladies pay, and the last one to exit mumbled, Now, we aren't tipping you because you used such filthy language back in the city.  I swear, my mumble began with the letter k instead of F, in other words, I did a spoonerism, and I replied: Excuse me lady, if you've got a problem with bad language I suggest you all get back in the cab because where you're going is the Colosseum of Filthy Language...

I get highly paranoid with umpires at Collingwood games. No coincidence that they got the last 3 free kicks and Viney's push in the back was ignored to get the filth within a kick. But heh, that really added some more spice to the meal. Just enough glimmer of hope for them to be let down again. An 8 point win.

Funny thing is half my relatives and most of my close friends are Collingwood supporters and none of them are the lunatics you see at the games (though most of them rarely go to games).

That's my experience, too.  Everyone has friends who are Collingwood supporters (inevitable, I guess, coz there's just so many of them), none of them behave in this manner.

I hate going in to the MCC when playing Collingwood, the tone of the whole place is just. Sure a fight in the Blazer bar, a difference of opinion being argued in the traditional Pies manner. Police in attendance. I have never seen fisticuffs in the Members. I should have retreated to the Long Room!

Exactly my question. I was trying to think which Bank at Clifton Hill/ Fairfield Nth had been pinched,

and then i thought he might have just saved it up for this particular killing day.

Ahh, but you must remember, the Collingwood football club is a flotilla of luxury yachts sailing upon a vast sea of filth.

The people in the yachts try to pretend their boat isn't covered in it, but we all know it, we all see it.

That's the contrast with the Demon's, though - we include all the increments of society but even our derros have taste.

I all seriousness, I'm with the pies fan on this one.

Rubbish fans are rubbish fans whoever they barrack for. And frankly, when they are Dees fans i get embarrassed.

I had a fella a few rows back from me on Monday who was yelling abuse at the top of his lungs at Dees players all game. Not unlike me, he had a very loud voice and he wasn't afraid to use it.

From the start of the game to the very last seconds, he was relentless in his vociferous attacker on any Dees player that crossed one of his imaginary red lines - too soft, can't tackle, hopeless, clueless, how did they allow that to happen yada yada yada.

He was Dees fan.

Fans eating their own and being supercritical of players efforts is the worst.  As if these cretins had played at anything like that level.

Perf '21 GF half time queue into the boy's room. An obnoxious [censored],* probably one of Max's WCE supporters impersonating MFC barrackers in Demon livery. Slurs braggingly "Go Dees" whilst spill/slopping the contents of his plastic beer cup on my person. Given the state of the match, his behaviour gets one star out of five. Cognisance zero. Its amazing what people can do to themselves on half-cut beer.

Unsure why folk keep dragging the same tired old stereotypes about Collingwood supporters. My relatively recent experiences sitting amongst them, suggests otherwise. A younger educated demographic, courteous well-behaved and knowledgeable about the game.

The last 2 arguments I've had at the footy we're with our own clueless loud mouthed supporters sheet canning the players.
Having said that I mostly sit amongst our supporters.
But as far as I'm concerned we're there to support the team.
Not hurl abuse at them.
That's for the opposition nuffies.

Somehow ended up in a bay full of Collingwood supporters who were surprisingly quiet and well-behaved all match, however one Magpie gent did comment to me upon leaving "You're why I hate Melbourne supporters".  Took that as a compliment.

The worst fight I have seen in the MCC was Melb VEss years ago when we won by the last kick so to say. MCC father bought his son & mate along (Essendon supporters) and admittedly bated by a Dee's supporter & the son jumped a row to have a go and actually punched a woman in the face two people along from me. It was right on but security had been watching and were right onto it. I found out later that the member (father) had his membership suspended for a while after a please explain meeting. But I agree with you Hassa Mann that I feel a tad uncomfortable playing Collingwood at the "G" as heaps of their supporters act as if they are in the outer.

The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024.
