I don’t know how we managed to pick up McVee as a rookie but I’m glad we did.

My 3 point half time PowerPoint slide headings:
1. Carlton are rubbish
2. Dees lack class & polish
3. Rubbish game of footy with almost no highlights.

I am so very bored watching this.

Max magnificent contented mark spoiled by an awful kick.

Great game of VFL this.

This is really a very low quality game. The unforced errors are leading me to believe we are tired from loading…😂

Two horrible teams. What a fall from grace by the dees. This is not finals or premiership winning football

Gee Fritta is a mile off. He and Pickett need to dominate the 2nd half

The quiet and nervous crowd tells you all you need to know about these 2 teams... Very poor footy.

our disposal of the ball is absolutely terrible, we are turning it over time and time again.

I know we look garbage skills wise but I'm fine with this. We're in a lull with execution and just need to work through it, that's what they are doing currently.

Nice finish Van Rooyen.

Not sure Joel Smith has justified his selection

I 100% disagree, a little out of it that quarter, but his attack on the ball is light years ahead of TMac

Haven't seen fritta this out of sorts in a long while, him and kozzy need to gives us a bit more in the 2nd half.

Umpire not missing anything when McKay goes on the lead.

Or when Carlton sneeze near the ball

We're taking lots of our set shots from very wide in the pocket.

Highlight is McVee. Quick, clean, sure handed. Kid is a star.

I'm honestly relieved when he has the ball. You know it's going to be a good result.

The filth won’t even bother reviewing us, they will just turn up 10 mins before the first bounce and win by 10 goals.

58% kicking efficiency is as bad as it can get. 66% overall same as last week.

Get that right and we are so much better.

We have had so many unpressured kicks inside F50 which were horrible. And Brayshaw's was the wort.

Fritsch & Kozzie look lame.

Spargo is getting it and then... stupidity.

  • PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

With both sides precariously positioned ahead of the run home to the finals, only one team involved in Sunday’s clash at the Adelaide Oval between the Power and the Demons will remain a contender when it’s over.  On current form, that one team has to be Melbourne which narrowly missed out on defeating the competition’s power house Collingwood on King's Birthday and also recently overpowered both 2024 Grand Finalists. Conversely, Port Adelaide snapped out of a four-game losing streak with a win against the Giants in Canberra. Although they will be rejuvenated following that victory, their performances during that run of losses were sub par and resulted in some embarrassing blow out defeats.

  • REPORT: Collingwood

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • PREGAME: Port Adelaide

The Demons are set to embark on a four-week road trip that takes them across the country, with two games in Adelaide and a clash on the Gold Coast, broken up by a mid-season bye. Next up is a meeting with the inconsistent Port Adelaide at Adelaide Oval. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
