4-6 is the worst possible forecast for injuries. Sometimes people never get off the 4-6 week injury forecast

Just when he started to hit some form too.

If Brown and TMac aren’t right I guess they might go with Joel Smith

We really need Max to step up forward of the ball in the next month. Brown probably comes in, but between him and TMac it’s a raffle to figure out who can stay on the park.

We’ve had no continuity in any of our tall players forward of centre all year.

Very disappointing for all concerned.  Our forward set up was just starting to ‘settle’ imo, and now the experimentation has to start all over again.

Report says it’s ligaments and that needs to heal before rehab starts.  Here is hoping he is a quick healer

Left field - Melksham comes in to play defensive role on Allir Aliir.

They’ll have a tough time playing on Gawn anyway.

You are better off bringing Joel Smith to play that role. He has the height and athleticism to go with him.

How frustrating! – for supporters, for the club, and most of all for poor Harry Petty. The half he played on Saturday was the best footy he has played as a forward and would have cemented him as CHF for the season at least.

You heard it first right here (sorry Harry) -

One player who could have been spared that was Harry Petty who was best on ground to that time with six strong marks and two goals. But he had a problem in the form of a bruised foot and was subbed off during the break. Officially, the injury is not considered a problem which means he’s in doubt for Friday night’s blockbuster in Adelaide.

This one really stings.

Agreed with others was starting to see some continuity up forward and felt he was just about to see some scoreboard reward for how much work he does in marking contests and off-ball with his physicality.

However I think its losing the flexibility that he gives us thats going to give Goodwin headaches. We have been going really well with the two talls and Hibberd playing as the third tall (doing a terrific job i might add) but against bigger teams the luxury of throwing Petty back and playing one of the rucks/Trac more forward will be a shame to lose over the next 4-6.

I think for the above reason I can see McDonald getting the nod over Brown as he can go back where needed. Coaching department favorite Smith might also be considered for this role as the swing man.

Looked to me like he did it during or before his mark for his first goal - he was limping as he went back to take the kick. Would playing on have exacerbated it? (spilt milk, I guess...)

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
