Demonland 74,430 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 It’s Game Day and the Demons have landed on the Sunny Gold Coast and are set to take on the Suns at Heritage Bank Stadium in a bid to win their third match on the trot. Follow all the action live here in the Game Day thread. 1 1
McQueen 17,867 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Paper and form, we should prevail comfortably. But I think the Suns will give a good account of themselves and really push us at times today. 4 goals would be solid, 6 or 7 would be a strong win. 12
John Crow Batty 8,892 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 GC are good at the moment. They easily handled Richmond last week where we struggled to suppress them the week before. I wouldn’t take this game lightly. 2 1
Guest Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Today we’ll re-start our impressive streak of interstate wins! US BY LOTS AND LOTS !!!! seriously though …Us by lots and lots 😁 … and lots ❤️💙👊🏼❤️💙
Mister Ed 317 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 In the same game last year they gave us a fright and many of their players have matured since then. They have a few big outs but they have depth now so they are no pushover. Demons however, have too much at stake so take it from the horse’s mouth - we win by 20 points. 4 1
BrisbaneDemon 1,575 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 A mate is staying at the Sofitel in Broadbeach, the demons are staying their also, he was in the Spa with Viney, Van Rooyen and two other demons he didn’t know 🤦♂️ (bandwagon Lions supporter). Viney mentioned to him that the suns at home was the Demons hardest away game last year. They should be on ready to go! 10 1 1
leave it to deever 17,618 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Our tribe by a comfortable 7 goals. Enjoy. 1

No way was WCW missing that early morning flight to GC; just for a few hours sleep. In the lady's own words: 'Sleep is overrated'!! Edited May 5, 2023 by Lucifers Hero 5
Whispering_Jack 31,368 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Today’s weather report for the Gold Coast. Sunny with a high of 23 degrees (and currently 18 degrees? 4

Stiff Arm 4,420 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 My ample gut tells me this is a danger game but one we cannot not drop if we want to stay in the hunt. Just get the job done Dees. By one point or 10 goals, get it done! 4 1
Jaded No More 68,976 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Last year when we played them it was very wet from memory. And slippery. Conditions today are vastly different. Fingers crossed we don’t take this one for granted and come out strong and deflate them early. 6
leave it to deever 17,618 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 I hope Max gets to spend a fair bit of time in the forward line negating Gcs marks and letting our small brigade to clean up the marks he doesn't take.
Demon Disciple 12,536 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Need to do what we did to North, come out swinging right from the opening bounce and put them away early. 5
Brownie 6,086 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Will there be a pause in play while we all take the knee and pledge allegiance? 2 1

Many thanks for this. very sensible public comment by Jack also. 1
Redleg 42,156 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Rowell has lifted, in trying to make up for Miller being out, but Miller is a huge out for them, as is the in form Weller, who has become their run and carry player. They are playing well and this is no gimme game. 2

Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Yes, respect every opposition. I just don’t think the Suns are playing as good as most are saying. They kicked 11.6 last week and that’s not much. 6.1 came in one quarter. They will have to play a hell of a lot better to beat us. They’ve lost some key players as already mentioned, we should be winning this. 6 1
Maldonboy38 6,435 Posted May 5, 2023 Posted May 5, 2023 Witts is a class ruckman so will probably come close to evening out the ruck contests with Gawn/Grundy. We have to take full advantage when he is resting on the bench. Their midfield is on a massive learning increase and are no easy beats. Their forward line looks underclass but has multiple paths to goal. It is their defence where we will get them. Fritsch, JVR and Kozzie to go nuts today, and Chandler to continue his good form. Dees by 25. 3 1

Slipperiness would just have been the humidity.

The slipperiness was due to the state of the ground after a heavy downpour on the night before the game. And yes it was humid during the course of the game. 1 1
