Paper and form, we should prevail comfortably.
But I think the Suns will give a good account of themselves and really push us at times today.

4 goals would be solid, 6 or 7 would be a strong win.

GC are good at the moment. They easily handled Richmond last week where we struggled to suppress them the week before. I wouldn’t take this game lightly.

In the same game last year they gave us a fright and many of their players have matured since then. They have a few big outs but they have depth now so they are no pushover.

Demons however, have too much at stake so take it from the horse’s mouth - we win by 20 points.

A mate is staying at the Sofitel in Broadbeach, the demons are staying their also, he was in the Spa with Viney, Van Rooyen and two other demons he didn’t know 🤦‍♂️ (bandwagon Lions supporter). Viney mentioned to him that the suns at home was the Demons hardest away game last year.  They should be on ready to go!

No way was WCW missing that early morning flight to GC; just for a few hours sleep.

In the lady's own words:  'Sleep is overrated'!!

My ample gut tells me this is a danger game but one we cannot not drop if we want to stay in the hunt. Just get the job done Dees. By one point or 10 goals, get it done!

Last year when we played them it was very wet from memory. And slippery.
Conditions today are vastly different.
Fingers crossed we don’t take this one for granted and come out strong and deflate them early.

I hope Max gets to spend a fair bit of time in the forward line negating Gcs marks and letting our small brigade to clean up the marks he doesn't take.

Clubhouse clear leader for post of the day so far.

Many thanks for this.  very sensible public comment by Jack also.

Rowell has lifted, in trying to make up for Miller being out, but Miller is a huge out for them, as is the in form Weller, who has become their run and carry player.

They are playing well and this is no gimme game.

Yes, respect every opposition. I just don’t think the Suns are playing as good as most are saying. They kicked 11.6 last week and that’s not much. 6.1 came in one quarter. They will have to play a hell of a lot better to beat us.
They’ve lost some key players as already mentioned, we should be winning this.

Witts is a class ruckman so will probably come close to evening out the ruck contests with Gawn/Grundy. We have to take full advantage when he is resting on the bench.

Their midfield is on a massive learning increase and are no easy beats. Their forward line looks underclass but has multiple paths to goal. It is their defence where we will get them. Fritsch, JVR and Kozzie to go nuts today, and Chandler to continue his good form.

Dees by 25.

Last year was a cracking weather. Slipperiness would just have been the humidity.

The slipperiness was due to the state of the ground after a heavy downpour on the night before the game. And yes it was humid during the course of the game.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
