Well it ain't working with

Tmac

JVR

Petty.

BBB.

So what have you got?

Petty and JVR have played about 2.5 games together up forward including tonight, and on the basis of forward half ball movement tonight I'd hardly judge them.

A couple of times we were almost out the front of the stoppage, only to have a little fumble letting Richmond turn it over and go through other way. Clean this up and we'll score quickly. Also as Richmond appeared to tire a little bit we started to actually get some intercepts and structure. Umps can get stuffed

Fmd, calm down, we're 2 goals down and have been playing 2 teams out there, positive energy and thoughts y'all

Will try, we need to be a lot better and harder.

Viney has stepped up and we've started clunking marks around the ground. Big 3rd q coming up.

Same as last week. So predictable. Should Kick the ball on angles and low into the forward line like every other team does against us!

The good game day  coaches must love Goodwin

Van Rooyen is playing his second game and his last!

Mate this is embarrassing even for the game day thread.

How about we move 5 players sling the 60 arc and leave the rest of the space for Fritch from FF

Hi all from up here in Qld. Can someone tell me if JVR is playing in this game as I have not seen him.

A bin average half of football from us. Second to most balls, not working the extra 5% to help each other out. 50+ opposition points in the board by half time again, yay.

I don't care if they umpiring has been bad, there was no point in that 2nd quarter where I thought we'd get a run on. Every little ricochet, soccer kick, flick on favoured Richmond and they sliced us through the middle. We suck right now and are not playing the correct football to win.

Something is not working in the middle, get Gus in there, change it up a bit. We need to win some god damn ball out of the middle, get more inside 50s.

The one redeeming factor is there is 14 points in it. But if we don't come out absolutely striking fear into their hearts then it will be a long night. Find your Demon spirit and apply it.

It's going to be hard work, Richmond have a head of steam up now and are running much harder than us, impossible your physicality and unlock the Demon within. One more time, FORGET about the umpiring and win the ball.

Yep, swing Brayshaw into the middle and leave Trac down forward.

JVR is being out-muscled but I would just get him to move more. Apart from BBB he is our best forward option and one I like. TMac is probably done, and I am no believer In Schache.

We miss Salem so much. Bowey, Rivers and McVee poor tonight and making horrid decisions.

Would put Big M to CHF.... grundy in the ruck.

Sub Bill on for JVR

Yes. What's the point of having the two big rucks? We need a target.

Checked the rule book as I couldn’t understand the free against Lever.

still not sure I understand…

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
