6 day break and bad habits after beating a WAFL side and Essendon aren’t bad.

Backline missed Lever and Hibbo

Forward line missed Petty and BBB.

Midfield were flat as a tack against a side with an underrated midfield.

My greater concern is the lack of composure down back and lack of sharing the ball forward. Most of the rest can be fixed with a fresh start and getting some talent back.

How long has it been since we looked that bad? They lacked intensity and cohesion. Really a bad showing, Grundy and May were terrible. How long since May has looked like that? I can’t help wondering if they were all ill?

Genius move by the Drug Cheats to appoint someone from the AFL as coach. All the club Intel, mates with the umps and ARC...

Glad I gave my ticket away.

We'll pump Richmond next week.

it wasnt just missing lever it was poor chasing, failure to tackle, not covering their players when they ran and carried and overall poor use of the ball. bad result, need to make a few changes, it would also be good if the coach could make a few changes early in the game if things are not working.

The only positive I can find from that performance is that it was just so poor ..... we couldn't possibly repeat it ( I hope ).

Our backline spent most of the game in total disarray ( we missed Lever obviously and May had a shocker)

Not much to be said for our forwards because we didn't appear to have any.

We missed handballs, tackles and kicks.

All in all a total [censored] up ... so let's learn from it, move on and improve.

AND ......  the rub of the green never went our way ..... never!

Umpiring - in general - appeared amateurish. Band wagon stuff abounded. Rub of the green turned muddy.

Sorely missing Lever's involvement but also the ability to keep the team accountable.

Have we seen the best of May?

Not today we didn’t. Lol. I’m not writing him off but didn’t he look off today… I didn’t know he could even play like that.

Quite possibly the worst game I've ever seen Steven May play for us in his five years at the club. Lever out with injury obviously didn't help but wowzers he was right off today. Bowey also looked shellshocked for someone usually so composed with football in hand.

Viney, Langdon and Petty (second half) can hold their heads up high. Clarry did well to break away from Setterfield in the second half but many of his 41 touches were far from constructive.

Also, although it's nothing we didn't already know, Grundy's lack of defensive accountability is concerning.

Not if we play like we did tonight.

Playing group and coaching group need to have a hard look at themselves. Tonight was 💩 all around.

A touch too conspiratorial...

But hey, I'm on board

That was quite pathetic really. Credit to Bombers they dominated a flag favourite who appeared to roll over.

Really disappointed. 2 very uncharacteristic defeats in 5 games so it's hard to know who we really are right now after looking unstoppable in the other 3.

It's the AFL, so nothing is too conspiratorial. WWE has more integrity.

Turned it off at half time knowing what the result would be.
Terrible display of football.
We are much better than that though. Hopefully a blip on the radar.

Outcoached, outmarked, outgroundballed, outrun, outthought, outmuscled, outplayed.

Our attitude is really poor at the moment.

Laziness is creeping into our games more and more

Disappointing. One of those days when it just didn't come together. Hopefully they take "learnings" from it and move on, hard to imagine them playing as badly 2 weeks in a row.

Missed BBB and Lever (badly ...) but the loss was bigger than just those 2 players out.

Also, it pains me to admit it, but full credit to Essendon. Their pressure around the footy was unbelievable. They completely suffocated our ball movement and scoring ability.

I was willing to call the Brisbane loss a blip on the radar.
Today though was just concerning.
Brisbane are at least a contender, especially at home.
We looked lazy. 5 mins into the game you just knew it was done. It’s inexcusable 5 games into the season when we have everything to play for!

They dominated all over the ground

Mids failed to apply the usual pressure with Viney the one and only exception.

Well now tell me how Tmac is worth a game in the forward line, the guy injuries have caught up, we then went back to down the line kicks into packs in the forward line no system, Kossie is not a midfielder, whilst the backline made plenty of mistakes which did not help, but when the pill comes in that many times the perceived pressure causes mistakes we were out coached out played, now back to the drawing board for the forward line.

The bombers forwards stayed in front unlike us which gives you two chances with mark or free we just start from behind i cannot understand that.

  • CASEY: Coburg

The Casey Demons returned to their home ground which was once a graveyard for opposing teams but they managed to gift the four points on offer to Coburg with yet another of their trademark displays of inaccuracy in front of goals and some undisciplined football that earned the displeasure of the umpires late in the game. The home team was welcomed by a small crowd at Casey Fields and looked right at home as it dominated the first three quarters and led for all bar the last five minutes of the game. In the end, they came away with nothing, despite winning everywhere but on the scoreboard and the free kick count.

The Demons were wasteful early before putting the foot down early in the 2nd quarter but they chased tail for the remainder of the match. They could not get their first use of the footy after half time and when they did poor skills, execution and decision making let them down.
