Three beautiful kicks in that scoring chain.

The first was Oliver istreami.t foreard in tbe centre, realising he had nothing forward, kicking laterally to hunter.

Didn't hit him, would have been all but impossible to do di,but it was just such a clever kick.

Summed up the situation immediately, kicked it with the outside of the boot in front of hunter, who didn't have to break side.

Then hunter's beautifully weighted kick to Chandler.

Then Chandler nails it.

Tbat was so critical because tbey were on top, had all the momentum and had just missed a similar set shot that would almost levelled the scores.

Absolute game changer.

Chandler also ran about 100m at top pace to make position for the kick to him. Then showed Buddy how to kick for goal!

I saw a mean steak to Petty that i hadn’t noticed before. Not miserly, mean

 Excellent

Sorry Frankie, I don't think you've watch Petty play that much lately.  I've noticed that angry man that won't take a backwards step in him for a while now, probably ever since he really stepped up and cemented his spot in 2021.

Playing with the likes of Steve May around would help that I think.

Liked his work as a forward today and while I think it's great to have some flexibility to throw him forward, I think his best and ultimate position is as a successor to Steve May.

I also think it is great that the team and our players are now reaching a point of maturity where Goodwin and Co have the confidence in them to play them in other positions and make more changes to the team, rather than stringenty stick with the stability and system is king thing like we did in 2021 and much of 2022.  In the same sense, I'd also love to Steve May go forward every now and then, because he can be a real weapon up there on his day.

Reminds me a lot of the grand final. We dominate, let them come back, then we come back and smash them. Only difference is we didn’t let them get the lead once.

what an effort from Roohey. 3 goals on debut. Very proud parents. I see a future star in the making.

Great win. Good effort guys.

Sydney fans were loud again when they got on top of us in the early part of the third, our supporters responded splendidly in the latter part of that quarter. From where we sat the noise was very loud and it certainly lifted the boys.

I think Nibbler is having a good year so far.  No doubt he's playing his role defensively getting up and down the ground with his elite endurance, but I actually think his offensive game is better this year than last too.  I think he's getting involved in more goal scoring plays and kicking the odd one himself too, by pushing forward into space and really following the ball forward and crumbling.

In 2021, I thought Nibbler had a pretty good year, so hopefully it's something of an omen.

Yep, he might not get heaps of disposals, but his pressure work is great. Plus he has a deft touch that leads to goals (and an ability to kick some of his own). No way he is dropped next week when Kozzie comes back.

Big pat on the back for all our supporters who rocked up and made some noise. I am certain the players pick up and feed of the positive vibes.

It was certainly noisy after each goal.

A good team wide response to the game they served up last week.

Midfield was much sharper today with excellent pressure and intensity. It really does make a world of difference to the team performance in the forward and back 50 arcs. The selection was spot on this week and the team was well coached on the day. Goodwin played them to their strengths and they stood up when challenged, both as a team and as individuals.

What to say about JVR's debut??? Really, all you could ask for. Put himself about, tackled tirelessly and kicked a few. A lot of good games in there. Chandler, Spargo, Jordon, Sparrow, Rivers, McVee and Hibberd....... lesser lights but all had telling contributions.

Liked Grundy's game. It improved the longer the game went on.

Viney will need to find some form to keep his spot. In a strongly performing midfield and with depth knocking on the door, you need to be 'on' every week.

A lot to like from this game.

Kossie back next week??? Who do you take out of that side for him? Tough decisions to make. The performance of the small forwards this week shows what my lie ahead if he walks at the end of the season. I would have him in the team next week and want him to sign on for another couple of seasons at least but today's performance gives me high hopes for the future.

Nice one Boys!

Just so proud of our boys today!  Last week is a forgotten aberration!  Onward and upward from here, while continuing to respect the game and remaining humble.
I love our Dees to Premierships!

Only 3 rounds in I realise but we are top for points scored in the comp….a lot of people bag our forward line but I would say we have the best group of small forwards in the AFL and the best medium forward in Fritta…like the look of Petty and JVR for a different mix in the talls too

What an excitement machine. Looks ready made for AFL footy. For some reason he reminds me of a young Garry Lyon.

I feared the worst when they closed to within a goal and BBB was subbed off but that middle part of the third quarter when we wrestled back control was fantastic to witness. Three debutants already this year in contrast to 2022 when we arguably wore the same small squad of players into the ground causing Toby Bedford to look elsewhere.

Petty up forward was a great decision. I'd been calling for it without thinking there was any chance it would happen, especially when Tomlinson was dropped. Makes us look so much more dangerous with another mobile marking forward up there.

I thought Petty was ordinary up fwd. No better than Tom McD. Brown did very little as well.

HEAVEN OR HELL by The Oracle

Clashes between Melbourne and St Kilda are often described as battles between the forces of heaven and hell. However, based on recent performances, it’s hard to get excited about the forthcoming match between these two sides. It would be fair to say that, at the moment, both of these teams are in the doldrums. The Demons have become the competition’s slow starters while the Saints are not only slow to begin, they’re not doing much of a job finishing off their games either. About the only th

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

Many warned that this was a danger game and the Demons were totally outclassed all game by a young Eagles team at Optus Stadium in Perth as they were defeated by 35 points.

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k
