Two barnstormers at the moment. 12-0 and 22-0...

Yeah, but one of those zeroes is the bummers, so play on I say

I'm watching the showdown purely so I don't have to watch Essendon or brad Scott. Following the scores in the corner.

Enjoying what I'm reading with stkildas score so far

My dislike for the Power has been ramped up tonight watching them in Black and White.

Loving the collar on the jumpers.

I really hope they got Molly a seat near the disabled toilets tonight. Bless him.

Orange jumpers with faint black lines as an afterthought. Bloody awful!

Yet another on a very, very long list of reasons for hating this pack of uncultured swine called 🤮 Essendon 🤮

love the prison bar jumper!

it annoys the hell out of Eddie!

Dons played like they had tickets to the post game celebrations

Yep exactly. But it's a cracking first quarter though

I have no knowledge of the real North/Horne-Francis situation but he’s going to be an absolute gun.

This showdown is frantic!

Weideman having a shocker

for a very ordinary player i think he is playing a blinder; cant mark or win a contest but he does present and bring the ball to the ground; (coz he DROPPED it)

Flew back from the Gold Coast today and Plugger was on my flight, the Gold Coast Suns U/18’s were also on there and had no idea who he was.

I remember when Lockett went to Sydney. Alan Jones almost shot his load. Half shouting at the microphone, "The Swans will be great this year now we've got Plunger".

Feel like im watching a match from the 80s with that retro Saints jumper.  Keep looking for plugger.

Nice to see my old boss attend the pre-match celebrations...

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
