If it's a medial, it'll be, what, 4-8 weeks?

We're still looking at a minimum of a month of no Gawn.

Our next eight: Sydney, West Coast (away), Essendon (Gather Round), Richmond, North Melbourne, Gold Coast (away), Hawthorn, Port Adelaide (away).

If it goes beyond 8 weeks, the next three leading into the bye are all at the G: Fremantle, Carlton, Collingwood

Best time for it tbh. You can bank 5 of those and we should win at least 6-7 of them. Biggest test next week.

Right? And aren’t you glad we stayed ‘til play resumed?! Many Dees supporters left 10 or 15 minutes into the power outage. Not only did they miss that incredible post-outage turnaround, they missed the mass singalong.
Despite looking down the barrel of a thumping, have never seen happier Dees fans! 😆

Highlight was signing Grand Old Flag together, roaring away in front of all the Brissy supporters.  You're right, it was an excellent bonding experience for all of us who stayed to cheer on!  Think going home would have been too depressing without witnessing and willing that turn around on ground.

That being said... I'm getting quietly [censored] in the Brissy airport and nearly at my tether for mixed feelings, in part due to some transport stuff around (not Rex but Qantas for those playing along at home) and reading a beautifully, quietly destructive novel.  Overall, go dees!!!

Hopefully after last night we do a bit less "banking" of wins and we treat each game as it comes.

We should be stark outsiders to beat Sydney next week, then we're on the road back-to-back, including on a six-day break into the Gather Round (although so are Essendon) before ANZAC Eve. We're also on another six-day break from Hawthorn into the road trip to Port Adelaide.

I'm supposed to call the doctor about recent CT scan results on my lower back but I'm more worried about Max's results.

Until I see an official word from the club I won’t believe anything. Bernie Vince isn’t exactly someone I’d turn to for medical advice.

Laughing about your priorities but wishing you well with your back, Layzie!

Yeah I’m the same. Waiting for the offical word. But I’m feeling 10 times better than I have all day. 🤞

The time it takes to fully recover from an MCL tear depends on how severe the tear is.

A grade 1 (mild) MCL tear usually heals within one to three weeks.

A grade 2 (moderate) MCL tear generally takes four to six weeks to heal with treatment.

A grade 3 (severe) MCL tear can take six weeks or more to heal with treatment

I can handle six weeks

Thankfully we're better equipped to cover Max now than we have been for years.

Grundy + Josh Schache is an upgrade on Dogga and Weid

We don’t need to win every match either..:halfway point at around 7-5 would be fine as long as we have plenty in the tank for the rest of the season

Thanks Webber for your insights…great news re Gawn.We can cope without him, but, we need to get him right as well as gain another ruck as a standby.Schache and JVR did well with Casey.Pity Bell could not be called up, did well Nader the circumstances.

The MFC app seems official enough for me. 4-6

The journos are running with 4-6 weeks now too. Great news. And probably a lesson there for all of us who’ve been trawling this thread all day.

So you honestly think he would go “on air” and pass on info that Max told him without Max’s ok ? Don’t think so ..

  • POSTGAME: Hawthorn

Wayward kicking for goal, dump kicks inside 50 and some baffling umpiring all contributed to the Dees not getting out to an an early lead that may have impacted the result. At the end of the day the Demons were just not good enough and let the Hawks run away with their first win against the Demons in 7 years.

  • NON-MFC: Round 09

Round 9 kicks off out west with the Dockers hosting a Collingwood side resting several stars. Fremantle need to make a statement on their home deck after some disappointing form on the road, while the Magpies will be keen to maintain their Top 2 position. Friday night sees a must-win clash between two sides desperate to stay in touch with the eight. St Kilda have shown glimpses while Carlton are clinging to relevance after a flat start to the season. Saturday’s twilight game at Marvel pits the Bombers against a struggling Sydney outfit. Essendon can’t afford another close match against a lower-ranked side, while the Swans risk sliding down the ladder even further. Up in Darwin, the fourth-placed Suns will look to extend their stay in the top four. The Bulldogs have hit their stride with three big wins on the trot and will be very keen to consolidate on their momentum. The always fiery Showdown looms as pivotal for both clubs. Adelaide are eyeing a spot in the Top 4 with a win, while Port Adelaide’s season could slip away if they drop another game and fall further behind the pack. Sunday begins with a yawn fest between Richmond and West Coast. The Tigers need to bank the points to stay clear of the bottom two, while the Eagles are still chasing their first win of the year. The Giants face one of the league’s toughest road trips as they travel to GMHBA Stadium to face the Cats. With GWS at risk of a third straight loss, Geelong will be eager to consolidate their position inside the eight and start their climb up the ladder. The round wraps up with the top-of-the-table Lions heading to Ninja Stadium to take on the second-last Roos. The Lions should easily take care of the struggling Roos who might be powerless against the best in the comp. Who are you tipping and what are the best results for the Demons?
