Obviously Gold Coast & Hawthorn winning today is what we needed to get Pick 4 so will have to settle for Pick 5, but actually I feel better with both results going the wrong way. It would have been more annoying in a way if only one had happened. And of course North losing Pick 1 is a plus. Actually I guess we shouldn't count our chickens, West Coast haven't lost yet.

I reckon Meth Coke are still a chance to beat The Croms

After Last Weeks disgrace, it would be hard for Adelaide to go 100%

Well this was great fun, and as one of the inaugural riders I will take your thanks and your undying admiration and gratitude.

Jackson is a singular talent that they tried to stiff us and the football gods were having none of it.

ND5, 13 and 25 is about right.

Pick 5 and 24. Thank you dockers, it's been fun.

I’d still rather have kept Jackson, if possible.

Pick 1 back on, better than Suns finishing above Freo and securing pick 4.

We may well end up with the Suns’ pick 4 anyway, it’ll just cost us slightly more than if it were pick 5.

3 hours ago, whatwhat say what said:

Pick 1 to the Dees could be back on if Kangas win today…

In what way would we recieve pick 1?

Same. Would fit perfectly into our preferred set up and succession plan for Gawn.

But 5, 24 and Jefferson is not a bad result considering he was never staying.

Imagine Oscar Allen in a Dees jumper, I would take him before Reid.

It’s been great fun. Thanks for the memories Freo.

125 pages. Wowee. Well done Demonland, and just about perfectly played Freo (minus round 11).

Absolutely our low point in the discussion when we hoisted ourselves on our own petard, cost ourselves a place in the draft order and a possible home game in the first week of the finals.

I'll be deathriding Everton till the next deathride here.

Freo #9 pick (2019) wants out.

What goes around comes around.
Liam Henry - don’t recall the kid taking control of any quarter of a big final.

I'm thrilled at the karmic smack Freo got for their arrogant attitude to the trade, but I'm also quite sure that the mostly young and mostly very good Freo side (particularly the midfield) will rise up and be a serious challenger next season, and that they won't regret having Luke Jackson, either. So my conscience is clean.

From this day forward, I wish all the second best to Fremantle.

Some kind of cruel poetic irony that a player, whose absence from Fremantle this year, helped sew up their demise and aided us getting pick 5, kicked the winner against us.  What a fantastic final series he's played so far.

Maybe we should've asked for him in the pick trade. #Hindsight2023

He with the Feathered Cap has met his demise:

fremantle-dockers-appoint-new-football-boss-joe-brierty-as-peter-bell-moves-into-different-role

It is the classic 'sideways' shuffle to avoid sacking or demoting someone.

He has made some monumental list blunders since taking over and cost Freo dearly.  Not sure about the wisdom of appointing a long term staff member into the Footy Manager role without other staff changes.  It will take them years to dig themselves out of the hole Bell created.

What a good year for List Manager changes:  both Dodoro and Bell gone!!

The  Omac signing might have been the last straw.

He hasn't been signed yet so no Oscar isn't relevant.

No more Peter [censored]. He provided plenty of comic relief over the journey so he'll be missed.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
