DaveyJones'sLocker 647 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 How many times did we get done for holding the ball inside 50 this year has to be a world record. 5 Quote
von 1,580 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I’ve not seen us looked that gassed before. We had nothing left to give. 11 Quote
BDA 23,048 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 I’m gutted. Tuning out for the rest of the the weekend 4 Quote
KingDingAling 3,758 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Just a lesson in football. Brisbane, like Sydney last week, were just far superior to us. Luckily we got a good start but that wasn’t enough. We have the cattle but without good coaching it’s pointless. 2 Quote
adonski 13,267 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 If Sparrow is in our side round 1 next year we're finishing 12th 2 Quote
Dee Zephyr 19,311 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Cannot begin to express what a letdown the last two weeks were. We just didn’t concede a huge run of goals last year. 5 Quote
Jack7 528 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Cue in the rack at half time cost us!!! Quote
BW511 2,730 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Doing the same thing every single week for 2 1/2 years will eventually fail. This has been a pretty pathetic second half of the year, regardless of whatever niggles come out during the week 8 Quote
david_neitz_is_my_dad 4,084 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 (edited) This looked like several other games before, start well and get a lead and then fail to score for a long period. It was classic Melbourne of 2022. A very weak response when in the defensive and couldn’t get goals to stem the flow. Such a poor performance for when it mattered most. So many out of form players, need a few fresh legs in. Edited September 9, 2022 by david_neitz_is_my_dad 6 Quote
SaberFang 7,151 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Probably the most predictable outcome ever. Had all the hallmarks of a vintage Melbourne loss at quarter time. Surprisingly not that disappointed. Would rather go out tonight than watch us lose against a well-rested Geelong next week. 8 Quote

Diamond_Jim 12,772 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Going to take a few weeks off football Looking forward to some good off season analysis So many learnings It's not been fun following the Dees this year I'm afraid 4 Quote
chook fowler 19,772 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Poor selection, poor coaching, poor application. Totally unacceptable to be regularly run over in the second half. Sparrow, Rivers, Spargo, Jackson, Hunt not up to it. Pickett’s I’ll discipline is a real problem. So much for all the talk about wanting to perform for the fans at the G - yadda, yadda, yadda. 9 Quote
Straight Sets Simon 23,113 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Failure of a season. Every single loss was the same where we get out to a lead of around 20 to 30 points and then get complacent and stop trying to win. No imagination with team selection or style. Half the team in on reputation while Casey had an all-time great saeason. 23 1 Quote
SFebes 4,884 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 So embarrassed, what a disgrace, Goodwin can learn a lot from resting players earlier IMO. 2 Quote
D4Life 2,584 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Umpires in last quarter 50 against Pickett up other end goal soft holding to McStay - goal Bailey pushed Hunt square in middle of back - goal Andrews chops Brown arm 15 metres out - no free just to close out game umpire free against Lever not being tackled and 5Om to gift it Umpires pathetic influenced result 8 1 2 1 Quote

Lord Nev 13,512 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 Lots to it. We were cooked, selection maybe exacerbated it, game plan etc etc. Honestly think we'll be a lot better next year with improved fitness and luck with injuries. On to the trade and draft board we go... 9 4 Quote
Deesprate 1,324 Posted September 9, 2022 Posted September 9, 2022 It really is inexplicable it has to be linked to fitness preparation. But the complete lack of football common sense and flexibility is astounding. Seriously we are back to the bad old days. Massive chance we slide down the ladder. 1 Quote
