Finals 2022: Week 02

Have a look at Collingwood's kicking skills. I hate saying it, but it is brilliant to watch. 2 x Daicos, Elliot, Pendlebury, Crisp and on it goes. Unpressured or at a flat out sprint, they hit targets.

And jut as I type that, they make a bundle of errors in a row.

Pies have entered the dreaded zone of indecision .......... 26 points up

They're doomed

Melbourne have a patent on that one.

Speed kills on the G and we don't have enough of it. At the game and the Pies are so quick. Also leaving Elliot deep forward makes the Dockers second guess their defensive structure. We need fresh outside legs and fresh ideas in the box as well.

I have sometimes wondered if a “Pagan’s Paddock” with Kozzie as the  sole forward with the ball kicked deep over his head running in to goal would be worth a try.

Hunt to the wing? Between Langdon and Hunt we should be pretty quick and explosive on the outside. Use Bowey as a link as well, Trac is explosive from the middle of the ground and kozzy plus Bedford in HF

The commentators are dead set cheering for the Pies! When Schlutz took that great diving mark it was - oh, I think he might have marked it - in a full tone.

Pies remind me if us in 2018. Young team with nothing to lose.

Sure they’ll get smashed in the prelim but it’s fun to watch

Interestingly, they are ranked #18 for kicking efficiency this year.

Agree with that, except for the getting smashed bit.

Collingwood will be competitive against Sydney next week.

Make no mistake.

If the Swans let them…

Why couldnt the Pies kick like this against us.

Freo's disposal and ball movement worse than us

The commentary openly barracking for Collingwood is why neutral supporters hate Channel 7. Just call the game!

Collingwoods last 13 scores - 1.12

Great to see push in the back has made it back in to the rule book. Not sure where it was last night

Utterly embarrassing from Fremantle.

Pies even more inaccurate than us last night but at least they aren't allowing the opposition a [censored] easy chance to get back in the game, unlike our breathless capitulation against Brisbane.

Can only imagine how badly we would've blown this match if we were playing against Fremantle instead of Collingwood.

Abundantly clear how much you need to pressure your opponent in a final. Still gobsmacked by our lack of intensity last night.

Absolutely disgraceful that Pies will have a better season than us when you compare the stars we have.

Honestly - thank [censored] we lost last night. We are not right this year. But the positive is I don’t have to see us lose to the Pies or even worse the Cats

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

It’s late February. Two teams widely predicted to finish near the foot of the AFL table in 2026 face off against each other in sweltering 30-degree heat deep in outer suburbia in a match simulation with fresh new faces and uneven team numbers. There are no nearby sheep stations on offer; the result promises nothing more than bragging rights for the winner. Nevertheless, the loser appears hopelessly adrift, whereas the other seems to have found its footing after a couple of years of struggle – perhaps a hint at bigger things to come?
