Well if we make the Prelim and Grand Final, can safely say most of us won't be able to get seats even if we paid for reserved ones!

More members makes it harder to get seats. Double edged sword of more support!

Correct LT. The choice is no seat problems when you follow a crap team or difficulties if a good team.

I will take the second and watch on TV if necessary.

I know I will not get into a GF so  this year we are in QLD on holiday.

That's the way of the world in 2022 and beyond.

Sad to hear that, but i have to say I have similar feelings I have supported the Dees since 1960 and been a member since early 70's. Big decision to make re 2023 membership.

That is so sad to hear, I really feel for you and others in a similar predicament.  This fiasco rips the heart out of loyal fans.
I keep saying AFL is professional entertainment and money, not much else.

i believe all clubs have a responsibility to get together to work out a way forward in regard to how finals tickets are allocated. This problem will escalate even further as membership numbers keep increasing.

A no brainer for me would be one membership = one finals ticket.  That would reduce but not fix the problem.

Clubs should not  be able to ‘guarantee’ finals tickets unless they can actually do so.
No easy solution but this cyclical problem needs to be sorted.

My personal conspiracy theory is the AFL doesn’t give a flying duck.  They know the stands will be full no matter how big the finals ticket debacle each year is .  Their primary interest is purely on how many people watch the game on tv. Higher the rating the more money they can get for their product. Shame on the AFL.

Did you eventually get through on the laptop?

Once I got thru on the phone and paid it still wouldn’t let me thru on the laptop and I had a meeting so I shut down the browser.

I think if you couldn’t get thru earlier keep trying. There’s no chance there are no decent seats left. I think their website gets overwhelmed and goes into meltdown.

All seats at the MCG start at "A" at the front. ODs seats are on level 1 on the wing so he will have a good view and be undercover.

I got my MCC tickets at 9:06am. All level 1+2 were gone already, but got right at the front of level 4. Not the worst result and just happy I'll be watching us play finals at the G again. It's been years and those 2018 ones were awesome fun with 90,000+ fans going nuts!

Was in a meeting until 10:30 or so and got Row L on Level 4, still might stand on the bottom though

M55 nn. Not bad. Had to do it on my phone whilst on the train but no issues.

I've got a seat in M3 row HH, so behind the cheer squad I suspect.

I plan on standing in my usual location. PM me if you'd like my seat. No charge.

You'd need to see me on the night to collect my ticket. I'll be standing in M9 so you'll need a ticket that gets you into the Southern stand.

No way will I be organise any 'transaction' before the game. Please don't ask.

BTW I did the same in 2018 for our Elim final. The recipient was very grateful (bought me a beer).

Thanks Mate I finally worked that out. Now I need the Dees to be in control of the game to shut up the swans supporters.

My wife told me I will have to be quiet and as she  will be with me that is a slight chance.

OK got through     I finally only put one bar code in instead of the 3 they gave me   and that allowed me to purchase 3 tickets,   bloooody confusing   M1 ground level in the open please, do not rain,

Can anyone tell me why my ticket came to my phone as a barcode and not a QR code?

Last Friday night I tried to enter the GABBA with my mate's Lions membership card (QR code on the card) and was told I needed a barcode.

I gather the MCG takes both?

Woo P22 AFL reserve, was hoping for P21 but I also have 2 Medallion clubs in N19 so I am chuffed.

Hope I am not surrounded by South Melbourne grubs again in the AFL reserve

I discovered in last few years , the Afl reserve has interstate club local melbourne  members who pay top dollar and so get into afl reserve. This dilutes availability of tickets for normal afl members

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
