Herald Sun saying May open the door for James Hird return. That will inject some optimism in Essendank. So hope that happens

Good pun.

If Hird came back and I was a player's parent I would get my kids out of that club asap.

In fact, if I would get my kids out asap, anyway.  Right now they are seeing their careers go down the gurgler.  Development is poor, club divided and finals are light years away.

It will be Hird. Purely to keep the membership base and the coteries happy. They worship at his altar.

An Essendrug Clown just called in to SEN and said he wanted Hird back as The CEO

They really are obsessed….

Even if Clarko was genuinely interested in Essendon, the Bombers messed that up with loose cannons like Sheedy not knowing when to shut up.

So Draper for Jackson? Sounds like a good replacement, we wouldn't miss Dogga as much as he certainly will miss the Dees

I concur with @binman

The first thing I thought of when this was announced was the day we announced Roosy was coming on board. It cleared away alot of the acrid stench of 2013 in one fell swoop.  Ironically enough, this appointment will mean that Roosy's consulting company has definitely lost its gig at North.

The Dons treatment of Rutten has been apalling and the need of some segments of their supporter base to promote James Hird as coach again is delusional.

Watching Footy Classified on YouTube, Caro came straight out and marked Robinson 'a James Hird spokesman in the media'. I'm glad someone said it. The Hun and all its Essendon/Hird cheerleaders reheating the ASADA battle is as tiresome as how often they write about the Melbourne gangland war (despite Carlos being arrested in '04 and being dead for 12 years).

So this means North will be competitive in 4 or 5 years? Will Clarkson still be there by then?

Any consequences for the Tasmanian team bid now that Clarkson is no longer a central piece of their plan?

The conspiracy theorist would say Clarko is on board to help North transition to Tassie.

What's even more delicious about this is that Essendon could clearly have gotten Clarko mid-season if they hadn't gone through their sham of an internal review that said there was nothing to see here in relation to their on field performances!

I'm happy that the media assumption that the big club would simply beat out the small club because of it's resources has fallen flat!

🤣🤣 made an account solely to rub the Clarkson decision in and they got all hurt from this little comment. Account suspended too 🤣

totally immature but I couldn’t resist after the complete mishandling of this situation they created. EB7C31E0-9425-4E66-9C5D-DA35A791E2EF.thumb.jpeg.ee62631f3a7a425879c96d1c24bf4803.jpeg

Every time I read  Essendon and Hird mentioned in the same sentence I start singing to myself the classic blues song, “ST JAMES INFIRMARY BLUES”. Why do I do this?
Folks, I'm goin' down to St. James Infirmary,

See my baby there;
She's stretched out on a long, white table,
She's so sweet, so cold, so fair.
Let her go, let her go, God bless her,
Wherever she may be,
She will search this wide world over,
But she'll never find another sweet man like me.
Now, when I die, bury me in my straight-leg britches,
Put on a box-back coat and a stetson hat,
Put a twenty-dollar gold piece on my watch chain,
So you can let all the boys know I died standing pat.
An' give me six crap shooting pall bearers,
Let a chorus girl sing me a song.
Put a red hot jazz band at the top of my head
So we can raise Hallelujah as we go along.
Folks, now that you have heard my story,
Say, boy, hand me over another shot of that booze;
If anyone should ask you,
Tell 'em I've got those St. James Infirmary blues.

Clarko’s decision opens the door for shock Hird return

Alastair Clarkson has committed to North Melbourne - and his decision has left the door open for a sensational twist. Here’s the exclusive details.

How much does Robbo love Hird honestly.....

Like clockwork, he was always going to write this

Hird to the bombers is like Trump to the Republicans. Doesn’t matter what he says or does…he’ll be the one to “rescue them”. He’ll do nothing but polarise the club and everyone within it. “I see a bad moon arising “ But in the bombers case it does bring a smile.

I’m in two minds. I’m happy for North and it sticks it up the Bombers. But to be honest I wanted North to fold and a 18th team in Tasmania. This competition can’t and shouldn’t be forced to try and sustain a 19th or 20th team. This now keeps the Wolves from the door.

The sensible thing to do.

The Ess factions have been warring for a long time.  It wouldn't end if Clarkson went there; it may have even become worse.

Ess has kicked the biggest 'own goal' of all time.  They are now so badly fractured who knows how long it will take to put the pieces back together.  Would be happy if it takes 'forever'!

If Clarkson turns them down, who would be silly enough to take the coaching job.

Time for the popcorn!

Tassie Bombers?

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
