I love that we won, and it's especially sweet that we've done it to the Blues haha, but we seriously... and I mean SERIOUSLY need to take an actual look at what the hell we're doing, and whether we want this bad enough. We JUST scraped past a team whose midfield was decimated.

If they make it into the finals (and I hope they do, because it'll mean they beat the pies), they won't get far, but neither will we until we do something about our gameplan.

I’m still shaking, got away with a win but stuff you Dees, did you really have to leave it for the last 13secs? 😤

Chaos here in Finland....

Oliver thank you so much.

I'm sorry for thinking milkshake was finished.

May a rock.

Love this team.

Confession time. 3 minutes to go I got up and said "we're done, we can't do it from here. We've lost all our close ones this year". Well, bugger me.

That was as close to a final as you will get. Not a great spectacle, but as tough as hell. Both sides will be very sore over the next 2 days.

Delighted, shocked, annoyed, Exhiirated.

Yeah…we need luck sometimes. We’ll take it though. We found a way and that’s the main thing!!!

Egg on my face right now. Put my hand up and openly admit I got it wrong with the Melksham selection.

I've bashed him hard this year but the last few weeks he's completely changed his game to the point where he's important member.

Sorry Melky, you were [censored] unreal tonight.

Great to win as always, but that game told us everything we need to know, and sadly I can’t see how it ends in a 2022 premiership. How are we not just making up the numbers? Either way, as a wise man once said……”It’s a funny old game, footy”. GO DEES!!!!

Go dees, kossie your beauty jake what a game and hunty great drive and run

Anyone complaining about that win has rocks for brains. Carlton are a quality side who were playing for their season.

We never gave up. Kozzie you Beauty!!!!!!

Jayden Hunt played I think one of the best quarter of his career. He was immense.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.

  • GAMEDAY: West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have a chance to notch up their third consecutive win — something they haven’t done since Round 5, 2024. But to do it, they’ll need to exorcise the Demons of last year’s disastrous trip out West. Can the Dees continue their momentum, right the wrongs of that fateful clash, and take another step up the ladder on the road to redemption?
