And I thought Gawn was outstanding. Brayshaw had a heap of disposals, but many of them were terrible. I watched the replay this morning because I thought I must have missed something about Petty's game watching from the lower level of seating last night. But no, nothing changed. I saw a serviceable game, nothing more. Petty gave away three unnecessary free kicks (a quarter of Carlton's total received). He has a bad habit of pushing his opponent in the back when caught behind (see the Pies' crucial last goal last week). Yes, he saved a couple of goals, but isn't that a defender's role? Agree that May's game was far superior. Curnow's lack of influence had more to do with Carlton's delivery (or lack thereof) to him. It seems to me that many people casting votes here are influenced by the TV commentary rather than using their own eyes.. Edited August 14, 2022 by Flower Magic 1 Quote

I hadn’t heard the TV commentary when I did my votes and maybe had him a little high but I had really liked the way he played Curnow on the night. I watched it again and agree disposal to him wasn’t flash but Petty had the aerobic capacity to go with Curnow and to hold a guy leading the Coleman to 1 goal and 1 inside 50 mark wasn’t a bad effort. Thought some of the frees that went against him were brutal as well. 2 Quote

old55 23,860 Posted August 18, 2022 Posted August 18, 2022 (edited) Can I give all 21 to Melky. He actually kicked 5 goals if the BB out of bounds wasn't called and he made the tackle on Silvagni at the death which should have been holding the ball, and was every time against us in the same part of the ground the week before. Should have been 6 goals including the sealer. Edited August 18, 2022 by old55 1 Quote
