can’t wait to meet this [censored] in the finals…. Not the 1st time he has had a dig at the club who gave him his chance.

I think he got what he deserved playing for this scum

Amazing that one minute the Pies are crying foul about their silly child who throws himself in to every tackler looking for high contact, but then spent Friday night going head high at players tackled to the ground.

Happened to Langdon, happened to ANB, happened a handful of times.

If we play them again we need a lesson on tackling intensity. Honestly, find a list spot for Vanders and give him the first 5 minutes of the game.

I feel angry about the loss, the umpiring and the pies hypocritical and  self righteous barking . However in some sense Howe is right.. really dumb from Langdon to give ammunition pre game.  It in no way affected the result imo but I hope he and the whole playing group don’t make a mistake like that again.

I can’t believe nobody has mentioned Pendlebury dropping his elbow into Langdon’s face on the ground. Langdon should’ve received a free for that first tackle.

Howe is a nobody.

Langdon had the last laugh - he got up smiling. Don’t know if it was real or forced but it would have given them the s…s.

BTW great to see how the team consistently got right into Cox after his dog act on Max.

I agree, Mr Howe. Ed has received exactly what he deserved

Just hope Howe never plays in a flag.

Beat me to it.

On a side note, I’d love a media ban this week. Just focus on the footy..

You have to understand it’s hard for Howey. He went to play in the forward line for his idol Bucks. Not exactly gone to plan.

Howe really is an A grade [censored]. Needs to remember who dragged his [censored] out of nowhere to become an AFL footballer.

While I hated Langdon’s comment, Howe is literally no better. Show some humility. Ed has something you really want. Until you have a medal around your neck, STFU.

I have similar levels of dislike for Howe. I hope he never wins a premiership (you too Dangerfield but mostly because I despise your mates Hawkins and Selwood ).

McCrae didn’t seem to mind Langdon’s comments and thinks we need personalities like Ed’s

lol what's with the anger? Langdon absolutely got what he deserved. If Howe had called us a one trick pony and Viney and others had piled on in the opening 30s, we'd all be celebrating/laughing about it.

Lol I honestly don't see what the issue is?

He's only firing back to what Langdon said pre game. They obviously used it as extra motivation.

Had it been the other way around and it was Howe saying the exact same thing pregame and our players came out with this then we'd be all lauding what a legend of a bloke our player is for firing back.

I love the words fired back and forth now. If there was a chance to meet Collingwood in the finals then something tells me this will create a bit extra spice to the game and our players will certainly make sure we're not losing 3 times in a year to these maggots.

I have mentioned it in 3 threads. Do you mean the media, they are agenda based?

Jeez I don’t know about all y’all, but I hope our players don’t make sure we lose 3 times this year to the Carringbush. 😵💫😵💫🤮🤮👀👀🫢🫢🧐🤪🤪⚠️⚠️⚠️

My issue is with Howe being a repeat offender in this space.

You may only have to wait a few weeks for our chance to dish out some punishment. We win both and Pies beat Swans and it’s on.

Langdon made a dumb comment that was poorly articulated. He was talking strategy in a pretty lowbrow, untrained sense.

Saying he "got what he deserved" is pretty typical Collingwood grub.

They gang tackled him, illegally. If it's normal gameday without the pre-game banter, it is a free kick 100% of the time.

I want nothing more than to end their season. And end it comfortably.

Gary Lyon is our rep in the Media.Wouldnt hurt him to point out sportsmanship for what that was....I don't know.

The stakes will be massive. If we lose to Collingwood then its close to a write off for the season. Limping into a semi and then beating Geelong In a prelim will be a massive task, then we might be in a re-match against Collingwood in the GF on a 15 game winning streak. Winning a premiership from that position would easily defeat the 2016 Dogs run for difficult challenges.

Win that QF and we are well rested for 2 weeks and can watch Geelong and Collingwood bash each other up.

  • PREVIEW: Fremantle

A month is a long time in AFL football. The proof of this is in the current state of the two teams contesting against each other early this Saturday afternoon at the MCG. It’s hard to fathom that when Melbourne and Fremantle kicked off the 2025 season, the former looked like being a major player in this year’s competition after it came close to beating one of the favourites in the GWS Giants while the latter was smashed by Geelong to the tune of 78 points and looked like rubbish. Fast forward to today and the Demons are low on confidence and appear panic stricken as their winless streak heads towards an even half dozen and pressure mounts on the coach and team leadership.  Meanwhile, the Dockers have recovered their composure and now sit in the top eight. They are definitely on the up and up and look most likely winners this weekend against a team which they have recently dominated and which struggles to find enough passages to the goals to trouble the scorers. And with that, Fremantle will head to the MCG, feeling very good about itself after demolishing Richmond in the Barossa Valley with Josh Treacy coming off a six goal haul and facing up to a Melbourne defence already without Jake Lever and a shaky Steven May needing to pass a fitness test just to make it onto the field of play.

  • NON-MFC: Round 06

The Easter Round kicks off in style with a Thursday night showdown between Brisbane and Collingwood, as both sides look to solidify their spots inside the Top 4 early in the season. Good Friday brings a double-header, with Carlton out to claim consecutive wins when they face the struggling Kangaroos, while later that night the Eagles host the Bombers in Perth, still chasing their first victory of the year. Saturday features another marquee clash as the resurgent Crows look to rebound from back-to-back losses against a formidable GWS outfit. That evening, all eyes will be on Marvel Stadium where Damien Hardwick returns to face his old side—the Tigers—coaching the Suns at a ground he's never hidden his disdain for. Sunday offers two crucial contests where the prize is keeping touch with the Top 8. First, Sydney and Port Adelaide go head-to-head, followed by a fierce battle between the Bulldogs and the Saints. Then, Easter Monday delivers the traditional clash between two bitter rivals, both desperate for a win to stay in touch with the top end of the ladder. Who are you tipping this week and what are the best results for the Demons?

  • REPORT: Essendon

What were they thinking? I mean by “they” the coaching panel and team selectors who chose the team to play against an opponent who, like Melbourne, had made a poor start to the season and who they appeared perfectly capable of beating in what was possibly the last chance to turn the season around. It’s no secret that the Demons’ forward line is totally dysfunctional, having opened the season barely able to average sixty points per game which means there has been no semblance of any system from the team going forward into attack. Nevertheless, on Saturday night at the Adelaide Oval in one of the Gather Round showcase games, Melbourne, with Max Gawn dominating the hit outs against a depleted Essendon ruck resulting from Nick Bryan’s early exit, finished just ahead in clearances won and found itself inside the 50 metre arc 51 times to 43. The end result was a final score that had the Bombers winning 15.6 (96) to 8.9 (57). On balance, one could expect this to result in a two or three goal win, but in this case, it translated into a six and a half goal defeat because they only managed to convert eight times or 11.68% of their entries. The Bombers more than doubled that. On Thursday night at the same ground, the losing team Adelaide managed to score 100 points from almost the same number of times inside 50.
