Mixed feelings about this tigers win. They would be a very dangerous side if they get in the 8. I prefer them out than in and don’t fear Brisbane as much no matter where they finish. They could be energised with this win and cruise past their next 3 opponents. Hope I’m way off with my worry.

From the AFL game day thread

"Searching for their first win since Round 21, 2014 at the MCG, Brisbane gave up a 42-point lead and were overrun by the Tigers. This came about as Brisbane's ball movement was stifled by Richmond. In the first half, Brisbane turned 34 defensive chains into 16 forward 50 entries and 6.3 (39); in the second half, 30 chains only yielded seven entries and three behinds."

Q) What does a Brisvegas supporter do after watching the Bears win the Premiership?

A) Turn off the PlayStation.

For now.

Keep winning and it could be us against the Swans at the G.

Lose one and it could be Swans at the SCG.

If that was the case, I think I would prefer to finish 4th and play the Cats at the G.

Haven't worked out all the scenarios needed for various results yet, I am sure others on DL will.

If we win all 3 it looks like our opponent will come down to who wins the Sydney v Pies game at the SCG.

But a lot still to play out.

I don't aim to get too prying here picket ...... but your statement begs the question about the meaning of "random".

Were you referring to the random nature of who you kissed or where you kissed?

The game is so much better without countless players staging for frees

Result - open footy, more attacking footy and more scoring opportunities

Less congestion as the players need to keep moving the ball on instead of looking to get a soft free kick ... less stoppages as well

The game at the MCG produced 29 goals ... what's not to like?

High contact, soft, frivolous free kicks are no more (in a general sense) and the players have been well and truly sent a message

Players being fined retrospectively for staging is a great move too

Agree on shelving the soft frees although I thought Cumberland’s first or second where he walked about 10m toward goal with a Lions player desperately hanging on around his waist then grounded the ball but got back up to kick the goal in full view of the umpire was pushing the boundary! Holding the ball or dropping the ball surely. But yes great spectacle.

In light of that Tigers win this week, the Pies game next week is absolutely massive. If we win, and barring some extraordinary thumping by one of the sides below us our percentage should lock us in to second with a win over either the blues or lions. We got this Dees.

Would that be the non call of rebouncing the ball that went about 5 meters out of the centre circle. #23 is a shockingly bad umpire.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
