Zero imagination again from Goodwin. Expect same same result.

Which AFL team did you coach to a premiership again?

Might stick an episode of aircrash investigators on instead of the game, something a bit more relaxing

Petty is a blow. Hope the final bench is jordon, rivers, weideman and dunstan with hunt as sub.

Second time for Petty and the Vid?

Hunt deserves back in, hopefully he makes the cut tomorrow night.

I think Jordon needs a rest he was poor last week.

Very Surprised that Melksham and Chandler were included! Also surprised Bedford and Spargo hold their places hopefully HUNT gets a gig??

Weideman this surely would be "Last Chance Hotel" would much have preferred Mitch Brown! A few on shaky ground!

Mitch Brown is not a KPD, he isn't physical enough and goes missing. Feel sorry for Laurie.

Time for big games from Sparrow and Jordon

Sparrow maybe but Jordon has been one of our most consistent, racking up 20+ possessions on the wing which is elite.

Port stronger and us much weaker with the changes.

Will need a big effort.

And Weideman doesn't go missing??

Petty just cant take a trick this year.

Heartbreaker

Tomlinson, Dunstan, Hunt in?

Covid going to cause a lot of havoc over the next couple of months. Hope our players are smart about socialising from here on out. Might cost us top 4 or themselves a spot in the team around finals time.

what did you expect him to do exactly? Clarry injured, Petty out with covid and Bowey has been struggling for a while so needed the break. Personally i would have brought in JVR but perhaps a game in NT against a resurgent Port is not the best time to give him his debut.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.
