Laurie, no.  Not consistent enough at VFL.  (Had 5 disposals last game).

Bedford is excellent for picl 70+? but cant get the ball.  Bedford and Chandler would get games with teams out of the 8.

I disagree that Bedford and Chandler would get games with teams out of the 8, because both are unknown quantities at AFL level.

Bedford has shown some X factor at AFL level, but still has many flaws to his game, in particular his kicking. I'd loved to have seen Chandler given a block of games, because his efforts at Casey has warranted selection.

Whilst I agree that Laurie has been inconsistent at VFL level, I wouldn't write him off. He's racked up some good numbers when given midfield time.

I know it's simplistic but the players we need to target are those at the lesser clubs (ladder wise) who are ranked in that 10-15 group at their club.

Forget they're contracted just get them to say they want to leave etc. Second rounder pick gets it done.

We won't stay a destination club for long... we need to deal like one

Stocker, Jack Reiwoldt, Ratugolea. Might as well lock-in the flag for 2023.

Why would Richmond want to drop Reiwoldt? He kicked 40 goals this season. In the 21st century world 40 is a very good result. With a 40 goal full forward this year we would have hardly lost a game.

I wouldn't think there will be many list spots open for next year, we still have to open up 3 just for the draft so apart from Grundy  🤷‍♂️ , I wouldn't count on any more players being traded in

You’d think Tomlinson Bedford and Chandler are all a chance of walking and that’s just for starters

Mate, if Jacko goes, which we’re hearing as of yesterday is still extremely likely, then Grundy will be a Demon.

There are a couple of others that I’ll let you know about as soon as it’s appropriate.

Some media are suggesting that it's likely a first rounder we get from the Jackson trade would be on-traded for Grundy. Do you think that would be the case?

I’m in no position to speculate on the Pick exchanges that will happen if Brodie ends up at the Dees, suffice to say that the Pick will be influenced on the salary that the Pies pay & what Picks the Dees actually end up with.
My gut feeling, and it is only that, is that if the Pies pay $300 for the entire duration of the contract, then they would be wanting a Pick 14 to 18, which I think would be about right given all the facts, including the fact that Brodie believes he will be in great physical condition come Round 1 next year.

Dees are very fair & reasonable to deal with, so history suggests they’re unlikely to offer something unreasonable, eg their 2nd Rounder just because Collingwood are keen to make the trade and there are no other suitors at this time. Dees might like to offer next year’s 1st Rounder, however, Pies will be keen for something this year to help a couple of trades they want to do.

With Melbourne been the only party in the race hard to think pies will have any barging power particularly if him going is contingent on them bringing other players in. They might be stuck between a ruck and a hard place

I'd be hoping to play harder ball and not get bent over for a 1st rounder so easily. They've got a crappy contract they are trying to move, they have very few suitors that aren't full of p*** and the guy is also coming off an injury.

Oh yeah and did I mention that we don't actually need him? Maybe a nice to have but the sky isn't going to fall in if we don't get him.

I heard this from someone, and posted it a while ago. Hoping to be proven wrong!

i was doing some analysis before and i realised we only need to delist two players at EOS to meet afl criteria. for the purpose of the exercise i've nominated mbrown who has done his 3yr rookie stint and is 32 and baker who didn't play a snr game and has been on the list for 5 years. chandler getting upgraded uses one pick and takes bakers list slot. taking us from 35senior 5A1B to 35S 4A1B and mbrown delisting takes us down to 35S 3A1B. this means we can then change our list structure from the 36S 6A1B setup we had this year to the 38S (either 3 draftees ontop of the chandler upgrade) or 37S (only two draftees plus chandler) and 4A1B (could be 2B if finn emile-brennan goes all the way through.

everyone seems to think we need to make lots of calls and i get we want to find ways to improve our list etc etc but its interesting how it can be manipulated in certain ways if theres nothing we like. and we could have 2 rookie spots to trial players over the SPP and trial up to 6 players for those spots on a realistic universe

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
