Pathetic. Mediocre. Why.. why are you like this?

I sick of losing and I blame it on Hunt and Tomlinson until there out I won't be happy.

I’m tipping Bakes to play, we sorely need his pace and creativity, Jordan or Sparrows to be omitted, both are way to vanilla in my book.

Jordan omitted? Are you for real? You are joking.

Blaming Hunt and Tomlinson on our two recent losses is akin to blaming you for the decline in quality of the written word.

Or to put it another way, it’s not THEY’RE fault

Or to put it another way, THEY’RE not solely responsible for that.

Eh don't be too hard on 'im cobber... he done some good work don't ya fink?

Use blokes....i dunno, always takin the pizz!

At least Mitch Brown stayed in front of his bloke which is a standard Weideman hasn’t set for himself. Have some respect.

The Match Cttee has shown consistency they will give players a few weeks to validate, or not, their selection. Why shouldn't Micth Brown have that chance. He did as much with less last week than Weid in the past and has good hands in marking contests which we lack at present.

I agree with selection and your call rpfc for respect is timely on here.

Great to see Hunt out been pathetic. How Ben Brown gets a game I do not know? Rewarding mediocrity Hopefully disco replaces Tommo but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Hunty has been very solid, playing in an unfamiliar role, for most of the season. Sure, he has lowered his colours (quite badly) over the last two weeks, but I would argue that the absence of May, an out of form Lever, and a banged-up Petty, have buggered up our team defensive structures to the point where he has been exposed one-on-one, on much taller and / or stronger opponents, on far too many occasions   This is clearly not his go.
On balance, I’m comfortable with his omission this week, but I think your use of the word ‘pathetic’ says more about your understanding of the game than it does about Hunty.

Well done Disco and great to see a new player debuting on the big stage

"Turner, who grew up in Albury, made the move to Melbourne last year, and now lives with Angus Brayshaw’s parents, alongside teammates Judd McVee and Taj Woewodin".

I guess that means Jackson has been allowed to leave the nest.

The Brayshaws' are wonderful a demon family (shame we can't get Andrew to join).  They have helped set so many young demon lads on their AFL path.

Mr and Mrs Brayshaw deserve a medal.

Thanks Paul.

I love debuts.  His selection puts a bit of gloss on what has been a very 'ordinary' week.

Hope it doesn't mean Petty is out.

I was thinking the same thing. You would have to think he was doubtful earlier in the week. Being a Monday game I have my fingers crossed.

Not sure, but would think they'd give Petty up until team sheet o'clock to prove his fitness.

Could be in for Tommo, could even be for Lever who doesn't look 100%.

Interesting week for selection.

Tommo named on bench. It will be Turner in for Tommo.

So happy for Turner.

I'm blown away in his growth ans development since his time with the Murray Bushrangers last year. I bumped into him at the local gym over the summer and was shocked to see how much puppy fat he'd lost and how incredibly fit he looked.

He's a bit of a country lad who's good for team morale but also your typical hard working one who puts in when the work is required.

All the best 'Disco'. Your family would be incredibly proud.

Vanilla might not be to your taste, but replacing it with ginger can throw the balance way out.

In other words, Jordon on a wing is safer than Baker because he plays his role correctly. Baker is yet to show he can do that.

Good selection

Would have preferred that we had debuted one or two new players in the Eagles/North weeks. Looking back I think that's where we started the slump we are now in. A bit of a "squad"mentality may have averted the unfortunate events of last weekend as well.

Big game in the context of the season

If Petty is out the spine of the reigning premiers would be

Tomlinson, Turner, MBrown and a horribly out of form BBrown 😬.

Still reckon we smash 'em!

Unfortunately I missed last week's game but it looks to me that Max and Fritta are our two most dangerous forwards. Maybe it might be smart to play Max more forward and give Jackson a bit more time in the ruck. It would also mean that Moore would go to Max and then Howe to BB and then possibly a miss match on MB and Fritta. Just throwing stuff out there.

The media focus on the fiery interaction between Max Gawn and Steven May at the end of the game was unfortunate because it took away the gloss from Melbourne’s performance in winning almost everywhere but on the scoreboard in its Kings Birthday clash with Collingwood at the MCG. It was a real battle reminiscent of the good old days when the rivalry between the two clubs was at its height and a fitting contest to celebrate the 2025 Australian of the Year, Neale Daniher and his superb work to bring the campaign to raise funds for motor neurone disease awareness to the forefront. Notwithstanding the fact that the Magpies snatched a one point victory from his old club, Daniher would be proud of the fact that his Demons fought tooth and nail to win the keenly contested game in front of 77,761 fans.

  • POSTGAME: Collingwood

Despite effectively playing against four extra opponents, the Dees controlled much of the match. However, their inaccuracy in front of goal and inability to convert dominance in clearances and inside 50s ultimately cost them dearly, falling to a heartbreaking one-point loss on King’s Birthday.
