Surely not.......

Only connection I can put is the Simon Goodwin relationship having been joint partners of the Alma Hotel in Adelaide....

I imagine there are connections with other clubs, too. For example, Walker and Dangerfield were teammates for a long time. Dare I say, Walker also fits Geelong's age profile, too.

Nevertheless, if the story has any basis in truth at all, I could see Sydney needing a replacement for Buddy.

While I doubt it's us, he would add potency in an area where we  can appear to need new options... i.e. tall forward. And on his day is a genuine gun.

Lol. I love a posting click bait threads but even I wouldn't post this. 😜

PS: Not accusing you of click baiting just that there is no way we are in any way connected to this.

Surely Tex could not leave the Crows given the song and dance he did about loyalty when Lever left them.

I hope he does leave so I can pay him out even more for being an absolute hypocrite.

Would have to be Freo IMO. Or Sydney if Buddy has indicated he's retiring at years end.

Is Sydney really considered a premiership contending team?

Could easily be Pies or Tiges as well. They think they are close.

He is about 30 isn't he ? It would have to be geelong.

Carlton?

Freo

Sydney

Geelong Polo Club

Edit: dl4e is right. It has to be Geelong based on selecting for over 30s.

Can't see them adding Walker to a forward line with Cameron and Hawkins.

I normally would say getting a tall forward capable of kicking 60 goals plus in a year would be a good idea since Tomald and BBB have both ticked over 30. I would have reservations about one who is 32. But I would draw a line in the sand with Tex.

I vehemently disagreed with voices that equated the very rightful condemnation of what he said with some type of unjust public stoning at the time him making racial slurs were revealed. That said, I think that the sheep like booing of Walker when he touches the ball is mindless and unproductive. He served his sentence, nearly lost his career and has to live with the fact that he said something reprehensible about a young man just wanting to play football. It's his time now to be better and I'm not sure this helps.

That said, as a club who has been sensational on reconciliation and reaching out to the indigenous community, I'm not sure this would send a particularly good message. I am all for rehabilitation and redemption, but I don't think him coming to us so soon after the fact would be good for club harmony nor image.

Plus, I wonder how Jake Lever would feel with Tex in the locker room? They claim they are over it, but in light of how the story unfolded, I'd be pretty annoyed if I were Rick.

Bulldogs maybe? They desperately need someone to help Naughton, depends how Bruce's knee is....no way it would be us....surely??

Scum.
Tippas gone so no problem - cap space.
….and Premiership window

Player managers dropping garbage to media to try to get another contract.

Carlton or Brisbane with an outside chance of North

I hope Lever gives him a public serve and tells the [censored] he's taking money over success.

Wont be the Lions with their 3 tall forwards.

Don't think Blues either with their 3 tall forwards.

Can't see it being us, with LJ and Gus to re-contract and Weid and JVR outside the best 22 atm.

I think the Dogs, Swans, Dockers and Cats, if Hawkins has indicated he is retiring, are the main chances, if it is indeed true.

If i was picking one, I would say the Dogs have the biggest need.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
