Probably ribs after that spear tackle.

If that bloke doesn’t get weeks for that then the AFL has learnt nothing. Those are the kind of things parents see and think ‘I don’t want my kids playing that sport’.

not winning as well as some teams against the bottom teams, we seem to be kicking a lot more points. is it that our players now think they have a bang at goal from anywhere, compared to the more team oriented style we have against top teams?

Just a side comment. Just on half time Cam Moooney implied that (Zurhaar)? Got pushed into the fence intentionally. He clearly tripped and/or lost his balance and fell into it. Why say stuff like that? [censored].

Lots of fumbling, handling errors and dropped marks. Frustrating. TMac, Kozzie and Fritsch looking good.

Some unfortunate casual, carefree stuff from Petracca. Oliver is a star.

We have also got some terrible free kicks given to to us - that 50m is a disgrace to our game.

Please, please, please do NOT play Dunstan again. I would rather see a young kid have a crack and make mistakes than a mature player show us what poor VFL football looks like.

Goldy and Xerri doing a really good job nullifying Max.

North having a red hot go and finally showing what system they are trying to play.

I much prefer Doggas work at the ruck today. He can't be matched once the ball hits the deck.

For me it's not that. We look like we're in minus 1st gear while North are having a real crack. The first goal we got where we actually had some nice team play was Kozzie's. We're junkyarding around, we need to raise our game

North is throwing everything they can at us. Good teams don't play to the opposition's tempo and style. We do what we do. North has more energy this week than any other game this year. I wonder why? 20 points flatters them. Even with their effort. We're currently 4-5 goals better despite seeming like they're "beating" us.

You guys want to win 32 on the trot and have a perfect year? Smashing North is small beans compared to that so let's keep an eye on the big picture hey?

He's a former cat isn't he? Not surprised he makes such dishonest comments

Crude and Neanderthal x2

North are trying to intimidate us physically. If Jack was in the side, he would not tolerate it, so who will step up and make a stand?

I could be at the wrong game. I'm watching some team called 'Narrm' play.

Correct.
I am just spewing that we will come out of this game with some significant injuries because Norf have nothing to lose and if May does what he wants to and breaks some skulls we will be down an AA full back for 2 months.

People forget that this isn't the Murray league where spankings are common.  Winning at this level is never easy.  No matter what the ladder position

True but Brisbane managed to do it a few weeks ago against nth

North trying out the west coast game plan. Congest areas and try to hurt us. Then get the ball and all out attack no matter what. Makes for hard to watch football. We’re always going to get more frees when teams play this way against us.

1. We miss Viney for his mental toughness and driving standards

2. Dunstan has always been a poor kick, why are people surprised?

Its his decision making and handballs so far ...gets to where the ball is and gathers but i reckon he's missed about 70% of all handballs so far.  And he's had a few.  Decision making a bit slow for this level as well....drawing pressure on everyone including himself.

Improved a tad towards the end of the second quarter.

Some player's conversion rates leave alot to be desired.  About half of them were relatively easy and should've gone through

Exactly, we're allowed to be slightly aggrieved at things like this without being branded pessimistic jerks.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
