You forgot that we have not beaten any side above us yet, but I reckon we will soon, such a rich vein of form no one can beat us.

I’m with ya bro ….. but I reckon it’s pretty nigh impossible for us to beat anyone above us on the ladder at the moment!

Hard to argue with this decision, thoroughly deserved from Goody and look forward to more years of the Goodwin system! 😁

I absolutely love the complete absence of arrogance within the footy department, it gives me great confidence we will be there abouts for a while. the club all look driven and willing to sacrifice to drive the club to multiple premierships and long term sustained success!

It does also speak to the situation in the soft cap, and why teams chasing a coach like Clarko on huge money may prove to be a big mistake, when a more even range of role players is clearly a better approach.

Gees, there's no better message to the playing group than the coach taking a haircut and that the money needs to look after everyone to sustain success.

What a legend.

Interesting to talk about the Demon spirit, taking less money than otherwise could be got and wanting to keep the team and staff together working towards the ultimate goal.

Great message for everyone but particularly Jackson and Brayshaw, currently out of contract!

Can we stop any talk of succession plans please?? Goodwin has just started his 7th year as head coach, won a flag in his 6th year and has this club unbelievably well set up for more success.

Succession plans usually end in failure aside from, well basically unless Paul Roos is involved.

Simon's dedicated, humble, selfless leadership style has permeated the club and the playing group and I am forever grateful.

Amazing speech by Pert, great transparent leadership all round.

I am blown away by this club right now!

I am sure Clarry will follow his coach's lead and sign on soon

Why would he? He only resigned last year.

Great outcome and a strong address by Pert.

I still wonder how a backline strategy that had so many holes (he's out the back) became one of the best in this century but whatever... well done Simon.

I have had the pleasure of observing Goody in the crowd at many VFL games. His interaction with those around him underscores his humility.

I do hope that he gains further extensions simply because he deserves to be well rewarded financially for delivering what many of us thought we'd never see.

Thanks Goody

A couple of years ago I thought he was a poor coach, Once we got Yze and Choco, he seems to have relaxed a bit and takes other opinions on board.

He seems to have grown,   my opinion has grown,  How much has he done wrong in the last two years,   not much     Deserves the 2 years definitely,   every flag ,   another year,   no problem at all.

Same change happened to Hardwick before their run when they removed and then gave him all new assistants.

And the crucial difference with the Roos => Goodwin succession plan vs the various other shambles is that the succession plan was understood and intended right from the inception of the Roos appointment.

Would have I preferred three years? Yes, I would have. Would I have preferred him not signing at all could that not be achieved? Absolutely not.

I'm very happy that this is in the books. Not resigning Goody would have had every member of the board and administration bearing the mark of failure if he were able to leave.

Personally, I think either one of Dogga or Gus will go (if not them, a peripheral player will be squeezed out). If we sign one of those two and have Goody on the books, we will definitely be sitting pretty for at least 3 more years.

Brace yourselves, the “is he the right guy” jokes are coming

That bloody thread is like the cursed video that dead girl sent to everyone in the Ring.

I am starting to believe that if you don't make a joke about it every time Goody's contract status is raised, Dr. D might climb out of your monitor and kill you.

Just sign luke and gus and continue winning  :)

I felt as though Perts speach to the playing group was a thinly veiled discussion around why people need to leave some cash on the negotiation table 😅

Fantastic news. You’d reckon Goodies thinking regarding his contract would rub off on all involved at the club. From a frustrated and sometimes angry supporter, the MFC, Goody & the team have bought out some emotions 😂 I’d forgotten I had. I love it Dee’s. Mr Smith new we had to turn into a professional club 57 years ago! I respect ALL that tried over the years. Finally we are The Professional Leaders, in my view.
Go The Narrm Demon’s  💙❤️

Have you made the joke in one of these threads yet, binman? If not, you have to tell it now to supress the curse! 😄

The Pert appointment was viewed without a lot of enthusiasm at the time but I feel he has now well and truly proved himself. He has done a great job so far.

Most important for this theme to continue, as there is a distinct undercurrent of concern within the Media to,  trim our wings, curb our youthful exuberance, and generally just beat the bejesus out of us, by however foul or fair means they can get their grubby little ideas through to , be it Umpires, Tribunals or spare vials of Covid to be disguised in Coke bottles.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
