Jackson was a little off on Sunday Night, hopefully he wasn't already infected.

Probably can't determine that 7 days from when discovered.

Of our best 22 candidates I can’t see Trac (please god no!), B Brown (unlikely, just had it), Jackson, Bowey (Demonland I can’t see him which photo?), Petty, JJ, Sparrow, Kozzie, Spargo, Brayshaw, Tomlinson.

I hope it’s our VFL boys (no offence guys), worrying if Bedford has it as it looks like he was there…

EDIT: while I was writing Jackson was confirmed.

Is B Brown having had Covid confirmed? I know he missed a week (which became three weeks for other reasons) for "Health and Safety Protocol" reasons, but that doesn't necessarily mean he had Covid. He may have been living with someone who had.

And I know (or at least hope) we all think this, but let's hope anyone who has Covid gets better quickly with no lingering symptoms. That's much more important than whether we win or not on Saturday.

Betting suspended on the game.

This is serious !!

Bet365 has the market open currently Wadda and we’ve drifted alarmingly from $1.17 to $1.22

I dont pay my membership for these punks to be out mixing with the general public. FFS there is a consecutive premiership to be won

Please tell me you’re kidding

Went to the game on Sunday night, I  was invited in to a club function and got a dose of covid there, there were a couple of coaches there and Robbo was the MC (?) so maybe that's where it came from. Watching the game I was seated next to one of the club Directors and he may have inadvertently contributed to the outbreak. I woke up in the middle of the night last night, with the sore throat, headache and runny nose, no big deal if that's all it is.

I had a "close talker" having a chat to me and wouldn't be surprised if he spread it to a few there.

As a matter of interest Lyndon Dunne was sitting in front of me and he was stirring the pot when a few Tigers fans were leaving, giving them the wave goodbye, they bit and were having a go back but Dunney just kept right on waving. There's no doubt where his allegiance lies.

It can come on pretty slowly. Might pay to go get tested so you know for sure.

Stay well.

Please not be bowey.

So LJ is one.

I wonder if the boys will miss Goody's calmness on the boundary.

Dam it, I'm all for players living there life but imagine if this happens in finals or gf week

Hibberd is right to play but it is his first week back. I doubt he'll come straight into the seniors. Surely he needs to get some match fitness in the VFL first

I dare say most teams would be willing to go into some type of isolation period for the finals

From a positive perspective how demoralised will the rest of the competition be if we get up this week without our coach and another three of our better players.

Thanks for your thoughts.

I had a test this morning and I'm waiting for the results, but I had dinner with one of my sons last night and he's off to Hawaii this afternoon so I got  couple of RATs and did two both showed positive. I've told him and he's not feeling great about it.

So far I've had worse colds that this and certainly "Man Flue" is far worse.

Well the positive thing is all the caretaker coaches have won this season who have filled in

That's the spirit!

Just tried to load up on the Hawks but Sportsbet gave pulled the game.

You’re not joking. I’ve been trying to back Hawthorn and the game’s not even listed. (TAB)

You would think that there’d be others as well by Saturday.

Not necessarily.

Viney and Lever tested positive last week and they were the only 2 to miss

  • WHAT’S NEXT? by The Oracle

What’s next for a beleagured Melbourne Football Club down in form and confidence, facing  intense criticism and disapproval over some underwhelming recent performances and in the midst of a four game losing streak? Why, it’s Adelaide which boasts the best percentage in the AFL and has won six of its last seven games. The Crows are hot and not only that, the game is at the Adelaide Oval; yet another away fixture and the third in a row at a venue outside of Victoria. One of the problems the Demons have these days is that they rarely have the luxury of true home ground advantage, something they have enjoyed just once since mid April.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
