All this  analyses of Weideman makes it seem as if Lloyd doesn't know  he's been in and out of the team for the last five or so years but can't come good..

He's a leading marking forward who can't catch the ball

He's a good kick

He looks as dopey as Mathew Lloyd but isnt as talented which is a pity but still  maybe the Hawks have long memories about playing against him and will be a little worried.

BBB plays like Mr Squiggle but is better at footy.

Tom is the best of the three but can't keep his form over a full season and he's had nearly 200 games to prove it

These are the kind of correspondents we need in the trenches as we continue our 2022 campaign.

Classic MFC fan revisionism of BB. He was fantastic at North and has been, and currently is, the best tall forward we have.

Heard Goody has COVID and Yze to coach.

There seems to be a strong anxiety on the board about us losing a KP Defender mid match, and thus TMAC is the only way to manage such a scenario, thus he retains his spot in the side...

I'd argue there a range of other options, that don't include TMAC. Including one of the rucks to drop into the hole.

If we lose a defender mid match... then so be it.... it happens.

Agree - I think that's why match committee also like Smith.  Will be interesting this week to see if TMac stays out and Smith is dropped for Lever.  I have a suspicion that despite his good form, it could be Hunt that goes out instead.

Bad memories of playing the Hawks in the wet...

Wonder if Ooze will coach from the bench

Goddamn Covid, why such a biatch?!

I doubt it.  He is the eyes and tactician in the box.

In an interview recently he described the coaching role on the bench as giving player feedback and keeping their spirits up.

We have Williams on the bench who they players are very used to having there so it should be fairly seamless.

That's a weird forecast. You don't normally get 15-35mm just from "showers".

Goodwin out, Yze in

With Goodwin out there is no doubt that Lever and Viney being experienced on field leaders will be a welcomed addition to the side.

The boys have risen to every challenge and this should be no different. You know your roles and  you know your game, just stick to it and back each other.

IN:             Viney, Lever and Ooze

OUT:         Bedford, Smith and Goody

MSUB:     Dunstan

At least Oliver (and everyone else) won't need sunscreen.

First game in 3 years live... staying up in Melbs also for the first time in 3 years (Jolimont) on Friday and Saturday.... anyone got some good recommendations for food that isn't fish n chips or good ol australian country town chinese takeaway?

Who are the three out with Covid?? Any whispers?

The 3 outs with covid could be Bedford, Jackson and Oliver?

All live in the one household and this purely going off Bedford's instagram..

By the proverbial county mile too.

In fact he seemed to have improved his ball handling and an ability to gather off the ground. Some of his work in that regard against the tigers was super impressive.

A key role for Weed is to block and screen for BB because opposition teams look to double and triple team him all the time.

Which, by the by, is further evidence of how far ahead is of Weed and Tmac, as with all due respect to both, neither get doubled teamed.

👎not ideal.  Enter Big Majak and Dunstan to stay in.

Strong chance of being very wet on Saturday.

Perhaps a mobile medium or a Chandler gets a chance and Weid is the relieving ruck

Mitch Brown anyone??

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
