I think this thread about embarrassing records has reached its use by date. Time for something more positive. What records do we now hold that are ones we can be proud of?

Jake Bowey tops the list of players who never played in a loss with 10. The next best, held be a few people is 9.

Is the 12 goals in a row the best ever in a Grand Final?

Has any team ever kicked three goals in less than a minute of game time?

Please add to the list. Let's enjoy our true magnificence!

One for the W team, first team to crack 100 and current highest score ever. (Did we also beat the record margin that day?)

The one I’m most proud of right now: shortest time since last premiership! 😄🏆

We have played the filth 24 times in finals and only lost 3. That is a record I am proud of. The 24 might be a figure out either way so if someone knows please correct me.

The last 15 encounters against the Pies (in finals)

14 & 1 W/L record

Overall might be 16-5-1

5 times we've exacted the 2nd Semi/GF double over the Pies and our overall GF record against Collingwood is 6 & 1

If the AFL women win this weekend the Melbourne Football Club will be the first football club in Australia to hold both the AFL and AFLW Premierships at the same time.

Transferring from that other thread, we have been equal-least among Victorian clubs for allowing other teams to break a record of ten or more consecutive losses. Just GWS over the last 28 years, at the worst of our despair, while Richmond, Hawthorn, Essendon, Carlton and Collingwood have wracked up two or more strikes over that time. Begone MFCSS.

Which club(s) in other countries have had this record?

I'm pretty certain we have the best win/games finals record of any team for the past decade. I read that we already led this a few years ago (2 wins from 3 games = 66%). Now it's up to 5 wins from 6 games (83%). By the end of 2027, it'll be 23 from 24 (96%).

Time for a random bag of individual statsl

Clayton Oliver; most handballs in a season with 482 in 2017. Incredibly, that count still stands despite being against players who had the extra games from finals.

Oliver claimed the most contested possessions in a season in 2021.

He is currently chasing most clearances/season, with his current 9/game behind only Brett Ratten's astonishing 265 total in 1999.

It has already been noted that Gawn holds the 'most hitouts in a season', with 1119 in 2018.

Chasing;

Steven May is currently on 8 rebound-50s a game, which is on target for the most ever, while he is also a fraction shy of the pace for most one percenters.

Christian Petracca is currently well ahead of the pace for inside-50s/season, with more than ten a game chasing Dangerfield's 194 total.

Oliver and Petracca are 1 and 2 for clangers in a seasons, which is the champion's stat given Franklin, Martin and Bontempelli are all in the top echelon.

Alex Neal-Bullen is going at 2 goal assists per game, chasing Jason Akermanis' 44 total in 2004.

Unicorn watch:

I'm convinced that Luke Jackson will become the first player to record every possible stat in a single game. 🦄

*min 100 games to remove anomalies like Richmond  guy in 1920s 1 game/1 flag

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
