I'd be happy to hold those picks till next year considering that next years draft is rated stronger than current draft (which appears underwhelming). But the footy department will know best. (and thanks lord nev for clarifying pick 44 - was trying to figure it out haha).

A pretty disappointing result after asking for an AFL draft pick in the top 10 and a first round pick.

We should have received a better result from the Dockers for Luke Jackson.

I feel we have been screwed over.

I think we should be asking for a full explanation from Tim Lamb and the rest of the MFC list management staff as we definitely didn't get a fair trade from Fremantle for a extremely talented individual who is a 2021 Melbourne Demons Premiership player who helped turn the game to defeat the Western Bulldogs and is a 2021 Norwich Rising Star Award Winner.

Just not good enough in my opinion.

We’ll have further plans. No need to agree to this deal just yet if that’s not the case.

I expect we’ll be on the phone to GC fairly quickly.

We can't force teams to offer up what we think is a fair trade. Yep. we got 'unders' but if that is all that is offered our alternative to accepting what is on offer is to send Jackson to draft and get nothing in return.

If Gold Coast didn’t have the brains of gold fish they’d trade us 7 for 13 and Freo’s 2nd and stiff Geelong with 13 for Bowes.

But it’s Gold Coast, so what can you expect?

Gold Coast need Bowes off their books, not pick 7.

apart form not getting the Norths F2 you cant get what Freo don't have. Yes we have been screwed in not getting the top 10 we all wanted but not sure what Tim Lamb is going to say to make it any better and I reckon hes got better things to do than produce an explanation for you SD

Well thank god that’s over. It was really a one horse race and they had limited realistic further chips for us to ask for. You cant make players come and you cant force other clubs to give up high picks. Lets just maximise what we received for the full picture this year and next and ensure we nail what we do with them.

I would have liked a better deal but at the end of the day, LJ wanted Freo, they wanted him. Not sure WC ever really in the picture, just some posturing from all involved? The deal whilst disappointing, probably as good as we could get from them, especially given we needed time/picks to also get Grundy sorted.

Obviously Wet Coke were never going to make a play for Jackson leaving us to deal solely with what Freo had to offer. We got bent over unfortunately.

Yep, just a few too many things working against us.

Freo and GWS win big time in that deal

Its bad enough as it is, but how did we lose Bedford for nothing?

2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

2024 Player Reviews: #4 Judd McVee

It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
