Premiership should get us an extra 10,000 new or returning members at least.

Then there are the ~25,000 Melbourne supporting MCC members who don't have dual MFC/MCC membership.

65,000 seems realistic, but if some of the MCC guys jump aboard cracking 75,000 is definitely possible.

I'll go 71,966

Plus 5000+ Perth members! 😉

I have a feeling the "grand final guarantee" option will sell out pretty quickly!

I’m pretty sure it’s already sold out?

Predict all Grand Final Guarantee memberships already sold out!  Unless those sold in WA just before the PF aren't renewed.

Anyone wanting a GFG should get one (or on the waiting list) asap.

Seems to be about a 20-25% increase after a premiership. Hard to estimate how much Covid affected this years tally.. Would be stocked if we can get over 65,000. If we can get over 70,000 would would be at the bottom end of the big clubs (around 7-8 on the tally board).

I estimate 66,485.

I’m full MCC but tick the box for extra MFC.

Can someone explain to me why MFC has this strange relationship with MCC that other Victorian clubs don't have? I'm assuming there's no tick box for other clubs.

The majority of MCC members are not Melbourne supporters

Melbourne would have most supporters.
I wonder if Bulldog and supporters of other clubs are getting the couple of pro Demon emails from MCC?

The Melbourne Football Club is a sporting section of the Melbourne Cricket Club. No other football club has such a relationship.

Oh, and around 65,000!

I'm going out there with a tad over 80k. All those lost supporters and now plenty of kids will get on board and join us long standing members. Wouldn't it be great to get to this figure and no real reason why not. Must be thousand's of Demons out there who are not members

Now that we’re back in charge of football I’d say 75,002

make that 80008, sounds so much better

I'm going to go 80,000 plus based on a couple of reasons.Firstly success and how it was just inspiring and such a stimulating fillip for a city, state and country almost on its knees. Secondly, this is a big adrenalin shot for next year, sports wise and for the MCC it must be marketed properly.

I rang up today to make sure my two sons had the GFG on their memberships for 2022. One already had one this year the other will be the first time.

I just had to update something on my membership and was talking to a really nice guy there, he said the club has now sold over $3.5million in merch which is over double what the tigers did in 2017. Also Covid pending they thought memberships should fall between 70,000 and 75,000, said it'd be easy to get there with the MCC members signing up.

i'd love to see us get 70K+. A bit silly that the memberships are not yet available. The club should be doing their best to sign up new members following the GF and keep the momentum going.

The last I spoke to today said they should be available next week (I think she said Tuesday)

66,666 - I hope I am first to suggest this. If we reach that number, that member should get an upgrade for free.

So it's part of the MCC but not run by the MCC?

Really need Dictator Dan to get on top of COVID in Victoria by xmas as some members many maybe reluctant to renew/join, particularly those experiencing financial hardship.

65,000 is not out of the question but may take a couple of years to get there if COVID continues to cause havoc.

Can we quit the dictator Dan [censored]?

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
