Is your life complete now?

Featured Replies

Almost. 95% there.

A flag at the G would make it 100%. People who attended in Perth would beg to differ.

Really hoping weโ€™ve got another flag in us over the next 3-4 years before May and Gawn pack up. Hope we donโ€™t do a West Coast and go backwards by the year or the Dogs who failed to even makes the finals for the next 2 years.

BANG! 2022

BANG! 2023

BANG! 2024

Footy life wise only 50%. Get me to the G, see our boys win a grand final live, get absolutely wasted with all my demon family down swan street and then my footy life will be 100% complete!

ย

Pretty close but completion would be to attend the G and celebrate with the tribe.ย

But this one is a dream or fantasy come true. There will be nothing like the fairytale of this one, with all the elation and emotion of a breakthrough flag.ย

And not just a win but a thrashing, totally dismantling all 3 finals opponents.ย

And sheer unadulterated pride. So much pride that my chest feels like bursting. And admiration, tons of it, for the players, coaches and staff.ย

Truly momentous.ย

ย

On Saturday night I would have said yes, being there was one of the greatest experiences of my life. I never laughed and cried so much in one night.

But upon reflection it would not be fair for the loyal fans in Victoria who have attended more games and stuck through this club through thick and thin. We need to win it again simply for this reason.

Then life will be complete.

ย Night time or interstate Grannies - donโ€™t support them. Happy to still take them if we keep winning them

We are all different but for me I need to see it in person. It feels surreal to me. Maybe it hasnโ€™t sunk in. But I want to out with 50K melb fans seeing the joy on their faces and watch the boys win it live.ย

I am relieved and happy we won of course but I am no where near content or satisfiedย

My partner of 8 years and her family are mad Essendon & Man United fans (luckily she's good looking). Between Liverpool winning the title 2 seasons ago and the Dees winning the premiership, they don't have anything on me anymore. I look forward to drinking her old man's grog on Christmas Day. Life nearly complete!

Things I've learnt since winning a premiership 48 hours ago.... I'm a greedy b*tch and I want MORE!ย

Well played

That 3rd Quarter should set the bar for this Club for decades. That is the Standard to expect and aspire too

I hope the Boys Party Hard, they deserve that, and then come back ready to defend Top Spot

Man .... They put together the best season I've ever seen a Melbourne side play.
One for the ages.
Got a top class side with no holes all playing for each other and wanting the flag.
They just played the best game I've ever seen a Melbourne side play in the Prelim.
As far as I was concerned we were as red hot as you can be red hot.

Echoing others, I feel like a massive weight has lifted off my shoulders. A huge relief.

But also, pretty much instantly upon that awesome sight of Gawn and Goody lifting the cup (an image I am sure we have all tried to visualise over the years) I wanted another one. [censored]. We are premiers. Best team on the planet. More, thanks.

Yeah just like that, life is different and I will die a happy man!

BUT like others, as much as I enjoyed watching with my 2 young boys, I want to experience this feeling with other diehards at The G.

The emotion would be out of this world. Weโ€™ll get our chance too!

So my family organized our memberships for my older brother and his son to go. We had another two which we gave to my brothersโ€™ best mate (and a mad Dees supporter) who has late stage pancreatic cancer along with his son. He wonโ€™t last past Christmas and Iโ€™m emotional that he and his son got to do this together. I have not even been able to post on the forum much beyond the like button, I have been so overcome with what this win means. ย

One at the G in front of us would complete my life and I can die happy.ย
Saturday was the happiest day of my lifeโ€ฆ donโ€™t tell my husband ๐Ÿ˜‚

Love the name evolution Jaded (No More).

Yup. This is the closest Iโ€™ll get to having children, so yes.

Closer. Only need the whole family at the G for a flag and my footy life would be complete.

I was there in 1964. I can't wait another 57 years.

I feel the need to say this for those of you talking about doing it at the G. I was an AFL Member for 15 years. I went to a lot of grand finals as a neutral supporter, and one as a Demon (2000).

The grand final at the G is a funny one. There is a lot of neutrals and corporates there. Itโ€™s definitely not 50k passionate supporters from each team. More like 30k each - and 40k neutrals and corporates.

I often used to get annoyed with the crowd at the GF, because a lot of them seemed to not care, and not know the game well.

  • NON-MFC: 2026 Opening Round

Finally the 2026 AFL Premiership Season is upon us. While Melbourne sits out Opening Round, there is still plenty of footy to enjoy with five non-MFC clashes to kick off the new season. It all begins on Thursday night with a blockbuster at the SCG as Sydney hosts Carlton in what should be a strong early test for both sides. On Friday night, Gold Coast gets its chance to open the season in front of a home crowd when the Suns and Christian Petracca take on Geelong at People First Stadium. Saturday features a double-header, starting in the afternoon with Greater Western Sydney and Clayton Oliver meeting the Hawks at Engie Stadium. That is followed on Saturday night by Brisbane Lions hosting the Western Bulldogs at the Gabba, with the Lions embarking on their campaign to win the Threepeat. Opening Round wraps up on Sunday night at the MCG, where St Kilda takes on Collingwood in the only game in town in the first week of the season. There is no shortage of storylines across the round, so discuss all the action from the non-MFC games of Opening Round.

  • PREGAME: St. Kilda

With just over two weeks until their opening match of the 2026 AFL Premiership season, the Demons are already well on the path to redemption and have the Saints firmly in their sights ahead of their mid-March clash at the MCG. What do you think the team will look like when they run out on to the G?

  • REPORT: Richmond

Mars is not usually a place known for lighting strikes but on Friday evening it happened twice in the vicinity of the stadium in Ballarat that carries the name and is a half completed building site with limited capacity for spectators.

The Dees ran another clinic for the second week in a row as they easily accounted for the Tigers in the lightning interrupted shortened match at Mars Stadium in Ballarat.

  • VOTES: Richmond

Kozzy Pickett was the man of the match last week and has a vote lead over backup ruck Max Heath who didn't play this week and 5 votes over former Saint Jack Steele. Who gets the votes in this weeks shortened match win over the Tigers? Your votes please. 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 & 1.

It's Game Day and the 2026 AFL Premiership season is almost upon us as the Demons take to the field for their final practice match before the first ball is kicked in anger in 16 days time. What are you expecting to see from the Dees today as they take on the Tigers at Mars Stadium in Ballarat?
