I do that every morning when I greet the boys at work 😂
They reply by yelling "OLIVER".
And I give 'em the 1 finger salute.

This a ripper photo and pretty much the theme all year. The joy on their faces when a teammate has kicked a goal, not many instances throughout the season where a player on their own in a better position has felt aggrieved when bypassed for a shot at goal.

Genuine happiness for teammates, each goal is worth a viewing of 4-5 times on the GF replay just to see the reactions in the background. One of my favourites is Spargo on his own in the goal square jumping and fist pumping the air.

Yeah, a bloody brilliant run down. Dunstall really struggling. Like many Hawthorn people, he can barely hide his disdain.

So true. He said before the prelim “I hope the Dees beat Geelong, so we can watch them completely gas it in the Grand final”

Bad luck Jase! And many more years of pain to come for you

Pre-season surgeries for our main stars will determine whether we can defend the title.

Injuries next year play a part but our squad will be pretty hungry still I reckon.

Particularly liked his long goal duringour blitz, his longkick to the advantage of BB and his kick to Fritta in the goal square in the first qtr

Clever and skillful

He was immense. It becomes more apparent with each viewing.

And it should be noted that his kick to Fritta in the goal square would have been a pretty insane goal of his own if Fritta elected to let it through.

Imagine being a Dogs fan and seeing that? I’d be filthy. He has also been pictured out partying with the Melbourne players.

Yes I saw those posts too.  Its indeed a new world.  On the one hand its nice to see people enjoying themselves, these are difficult times, but for someone my age its hard to fathom the GF horror being brushed away so easily by a dogs player.  But I'm gradually learning, each to their own I suppose.

(Although I'd probably be far less forgiving if it was one of our own after a loss!)

I’d cut him some slack. He’s a young man letting his hair down. I hate the way footy fans expect players to act like they’re at a funeral after they lose a game. Just because we’re emotionally unbalanced and tie our complete mental well-being to our footy team, doesn’t mean the players should. And this was obviously some time afterwards, seeing as it is in a night club.

Fair dinkum, who cares.

A bit of Sunday morning poetry for you all.

Remember, remember
Twenty-fifth of September
Firepower, awe and shock

I see no reason
Why Melbourne's fine season
Should ever be forgot

Recall, recall
Petracca's great goal
and Sparrow's and Clarry's on top

I see no way
How Melbourne's big day
Can ever be forgot

Maybe Bailey has some friends at the MFC or he has a desire to join the red and the blue.

Needs to learn how to defend first...

Derm hates Melbourne but Dunstable doesn’t at all, horrible call.

I can't wait to see Derm have to offer us praise next year and not backhanded compliments either like he has in the past. Having to admit we are a genuinely good, tough team with mental resilience will just about break his reality.

He's a total meathead. Can't see it happening.

And I don't care what he thinks/says.

Was looking at some stats and noticed Sparrow only had 66% game time.

He played a blinder. Really like his hardness and he kicks like a mule.

Mature mindset and body - and will get better.

I have to admit, I couldn’t believe Binman’s 47 point win tip and was very skeptical. Not that we wouldn’t win, but by such a large margin. Hats off to you @binman. You had the analysis and the belief!

Somebody on here predicted the Deez by 10 goals and the Norm Smith medalist.

Isnt he mates with Tracca?  (Or do I have the wrong Bailey...or Smith)

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’

Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
