Jack Trengove in the rooms!! ❤💙

If ever a guy broke a mirror, walked under a ladder, had a black cat cross his path, lost his lucky rabbit's foot .... it's Jack Trengove.

God, I hope he's soaking this up like the rest of us. Times ten!

Jake bowey just blew me away, he was so calm,  his disposal was so clean early, has the composure of a 300 game player, what a star!!!!!!!

I am in utter shock. 10 minutes in I thought we were home, then when 19 down I thought we were gone. All we are is the best team in the land by that much it ain't funny.  Enjoy this Dees fans, the club and us all deserve it

Thanks Simon Goodwin. Thanks Max Gawn. I will never forget. You guys did what i thought was impossible and turned the culture of this club around and took us to the promised land.

Kudos to all those whose faith, support and optimism never waivered. You deserve to lap this up and celebrate this like no-one else!

[censored] unreal feeling. Well done to all involved!

We did it!

It's surreal but two observations.

How good was Luke Jackson!

This team was amazingly fit. Kudos to those responsible!

All those commentators pumping up the Dogs forget their finals wins, except against Brisbane, who they were lucky to beat, were against rubbish.

I am presently wrapped around the outside of more beers than I care to count and a couple of bottles of Champagne and for some inexplicable reason I cannot stop smiling..... Strange.....

Goodnight premiership winning demon supporters.

What a night. I rapt for players like bowey & I'm glad Tommy kicked a couple including the one at the end

I arrived in Australia in 1991. I fell in love with the local religion, football. I barracked for the Demons because of fellow Irishmen, Jim Stynes and Sean Wight. I went to games with Irish mates who also barrack for the Demons. The club is like family for a fella who is a long way from home. After everything that has happened in the last 30 years, this is a great day. We miss Jimmy and Sean. They would be so proud today. I am proud to be a Melbourne member. We have a great club that we can all be proud of. I can’t wait to do more screaming at the ‘G! See you there! I love yee all.

I’m a fellow Irishman GD. I too, go to games with Irish mates. The Irish connection is very strong with this football club and this amazing city I've called home for the last 15 years. Jimmy Stynes and Sean Wight are looking down and smiling on us tonight.

I can see the dvd version but in this day and age HD is the minimum standard - sorry just a tech head.

I’ll pay whatever - no question on that.

A blu-ray was on the site but appeared to have sold out by the time i tried to order it. Assuming more inventory will be coming. The club will make millions in merch out if this and I'm keen to contribute!

I’ve been waiting to say that for weeks.

Also Gawn is growing a horn on his head. (Daniels dangerous tackle on the wing in Q3)

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Melbourne and Hawthorn who face off against each other this week have more in common than having once almost merged and about to wear a blue jumper with a red v triangle and an embroidered picture of a bird on the front. They also share the MCG as their main home ground, their supporters are associated with the leafy suburbs of Melbourne and in recent times, James Frawley graced the colours of both teams. Even more recently, both have bounced back from disastrous five game losing streaks to start off a season. Of course, the Hawks turned their bounce into a successful leap from the bottom of the ladder into a finals appearance, making it to the semifinals in 2024 and this year, they’re riding high in third place on the AFL table. The Demons are just three games into their 2025 bounce back, and are yet to climb their way out of the bottom four although they are sitting a game and percentage out of the top eight. However, with the current sportsbet odds of $3.90 to win this week’s encounter, it seems a forlorn hope that their upward progression will continue much longer.

  • REPORT: West Coast

On a night of counting, Melbourne captain Max Gawn made sure that his contribution counted. He was at his best and superb in the the ruck from the very start of the election night game against the West Coast Eagles at Optus Stadium, but after watching his dominance of the first quarter and a half of the clash evaporate into nothing as the Eagles booted four goals in the last ten minutes of the opening half, he turned the game on its head, with a ruckman’s masterclass in the second half.  No superlatives would be sufficient to describe the enormity of the skipper’s performance starting with his 47 hit outs, a career-high 35 possessions (22 of them contested), nine clearances, 12 score involvements and, after messing up an attempt or two, finally capping off one of the greatest rucking performances of all time, with a goal of own in the final quarter not long after he delivered a right angled pass into the arms of Daniel Turner who also goaled from a pocket (will we ever know if the pass is what was intended). That was enough to overturn a 12 point deficit after the Eagles scored the first goal of the second half into a 29 point lead at the last break and a winning final quarter (at last) for the Demons who decided not to rest their champion ruckman at the end this time around.

  • POSTGAME: West Coast

Following a disastrous 0–5 start to the season, the Demons have now made it three wins in a row, cruising past a lacklustre West Coast side on their own turf. Skipper Max Gawn was once again at his dominant best, delivering another ruck masterclass to lead the way.
