GAMEDAY: Grand Final vs Western Bulldogs

Featured Replies

There is few players who need have a good look at themselves .Looking at you tom, jack and i doubt if may is fit

Dogs didn't make it to the grand final by accident. Was always going to be a battle. May not right it seems, and that in itself is enough to swing it their way. But a few unsighted: Langdon not being Langdon is surprising, but Tom Mac might as well not be out there (except he takes their second defender, which isn't saying much.)

Not sure here - they have not just the talent, but the experience.

Terrified, the one thing I felt I could trust all year is falling down. How many scores from entries did the Dogs get?

Not executing, for some reason the jitters came in that quarter. The one thing I take out of it is it happened early. I really hope that is the Bulldogs best shot fired. I hope our fitness takes over, I hope we get more clean footy in the 50 and kick more goals.

Umps clearly told to make it a close game. Just disgraceful.

Pressure is off, f50 connection and i50 pressure is off.. contested possessions off. Lots of bad stats taking shape.

Only positive thing is that our i50 count is healthy. But we don’t have good structure and the Doggies murdering us in the rebound transition.

Dogs could not have had a better quarter, remain calm.

Just can't see us winning. Never could. This Dogs team at their absolute best was always better than our best. We were just better for longer throughout the season. They are a super, super team.

[censored].

Bont for the Norm Smith at this rate.

This feels like a repeat of round 19, not round 11.

Not looking good right now.

That’s true. I don’t think they can replicate this.

We need someone tall to go To BONT when he goes forward... Viney isnt the right match

The. Commentators are always against us.

Viney killed the momentum with that kick into the forward line that quarter, why the hell did he not get in front of bont to stop his run.

Dees not coping with the pressure while dogs are

Bont was always the one to tag. So completely obvious from all our previous meetings.

Reset.  Get the mongrel back.. we got this.

Sums it up

Must stop Daniel behind the ball, need to man up forward side of ruck contest

It really is up to Oliver, Viney and Tracc they must get back control of the stoppages. Hopefully May settles down, really struggling tonight.

How do we stop it. My fear is they now know their pressure game beats ours, because their skills are better. More contributors needed.

What exactly is Ch7 doing right now?

  • THE STATS FILES: St. Kilda

As part of the effort to trim the runtime of the regular podcast, we’ve been looking at which segments could be reshaped without losing what makes them valuable. One segment that naturally came into focus was Binman’s Stats Files. Not because it isn’t important; quite the opposite. It’s become such a substantial and much-loved part of the show that it deserves a little room to breathe.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.

Never in doubt!!! In Steven King’s first game at the helm of the Melbourne Football Club, the Dees outlasted Saints in a wild, momentum-swinging thriller at the MCG, running out 13-point winners.
