Are fans allowed to watch training in Perth. I would love a report or two. How are we going to fill next week? At this rate it will be a long 10 day wait.

Both teams are training at the Eagles training ground which according to Adam Simpson is impossible to “close off” so training will be open to anyone who can go. Not me alas !!

Meanwhile, spotted on a scooter heading west on the Nullarbor is someone who looks a lot like this...

According to the following website it will take approximately 211 hours or nearly 9 days without breaks to scooter from Melbourne to Perth.

He better leave now to make it for the game.

It’s a bold strategy, I’m happy for them to continue with a practice match but would still really hope the players are told to take it easy on tackles, bumps, and spoils (looking at you Jack!). I would also hope that it isn’t going to be full length, give them enough of a run to feel fit and ready but don’t tire them out.

Really wish we didn’t have this bye.

Ta.

Grammatically, it a funny turn of phrase to say the Demons 'insist they have a plan to be mentally and physically ready' (a line Tim Watson repeats word for word in the clip)

Insist?

Is someone challenging them on their plan to be mentally and physically ready, or suggesting they don't have one?

I wonder if the dogs will also 'insist' they have a plan to be ready.

We'll have played 1 competitive game in 4 weeks prior to playing the Granny. that puts us at a disadvantage. If Burgo and the brains trust reckon a full throttle practice game is needed to keep everyone primed and in proper nick then so be it.

Lathlain has two ovals, the old home of the Perth Demons is fenced off so can be closed off, the exterior MCG size oval is the one you can’t close.

Yesterdays session footage is from Arena Joondalup

you could equally say 3 games in 4 weeks - 28/8, 10/9, 25/9  = 28 days = 4 weeks

Under the old final 4 system the side that won the 2nd semi only played 2 games in 4weeks. Pretty sure that team won the majority of grand finals

There are two primary species of snakes encountered in the Perth metro area. These are Dugites and Tiger Snakes. Both of these species are DANGEROUSLY VENOMOUS, which means envenomation is potentially fatal without medical assistance.

Great ground Lathlain Park.  The WCE have a Cafe and Balcony area that over looks the oval.  If it is open it would be a great spot to watch training from.

Craig Kelly (the pollie, not the ex-footballer) probably has a cure for that.

If Jack goes at anywhere near 100%, any player who doesn't match it is asking to be injured.

Perhaps our new Perth based members could spare a couple of hours to get along and report in?

Basically nuts, as with most media "analysis". It seems having no game on the weekends before and after preliminary final is supposed to be a disadvantage. So we plan to have a serious practice match a week beforehand (ie right where a match would normally be), and suddenly we are 'risking injury'? Bah!  A pox on all their houses!

I don't think that's fair. I will say I miss his input. Given some of this thread, I don't think I am the only one. Hope he is going well and returns when Gosch's is open to the public again.

    TRAINING: Wednesday 5th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatchers were out in force as the Demons returned to Gosch's Paddock for preseason training on Wednesday morning. GHOSTWRITER'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Kozzie a no show. Tommy Sparrow was here last week in civvies and wearing sunnies. He didn’t train. Today he’s training but he’s wearing goggles so he’s likely got an eye injury. There’s a drill where Selwyn literally lies on top of Tracc, a trainer dribbles the ball towards them and Tracc has to g

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p

    TRAINING: Wednesday 15th January 2025

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie
