Won't matter. Like Mike Tyson said, everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.

VERY true - looking forward to being on the right side of that Tyson wisdom.

C'mon Demons!

Get it done!

This made for decent pump material prior to our first final.

How much can you drink after a covid jab

Consulted my nurse wife for ya fd, what you don't want is to get dehydrated. She reckons 2 std drinks but I'm thinking outside the square and suggest a glass of water after each and every drink 😁

I'm ready to go, wife's looking a million bucks in the colours, she's sporting red horns n'all. Listening to music, feeling relaxed and have a steely confidence we'll be too good tonight. Having a feed and a beer at the empire bar and will then make our way to the ground. Go You Mighty Demons!!!!!

I will,  I dusted the bottle off in 2000 and in 2018 but sadly had abandon the celebrations. It now resides in a Shane Woewodin 2000 port box. I consumed that one long ago.

Currently on the train to the game.

I reckon dees supporters outweigh the cats by 10 - 1!

should be a sea of red and blue there tonight.

will be great for the boys to play in front of a roaring crowd for the first time in a while!

Optus Stadium full - and not full of ferals*!!!

*Well, I can't say that with any certainty, but at the least it's a neutral game for locals, so they won't need to bully the umps into any shambolic decisions. Plus, it's against Geelong, and I doubt there will be many non MFC supporters going for the Cats. So they're ok with me. Today.

This just in from the Geelong Bigfooty board.

Who kicks Melbourne’s goals? Very, very poor forward line for a TOTL team. Yes their defence is stellar but our offence is a cut above AND they have not experienced the 4 Headed Monster.

binman's prediction (sounds more authoritative in the third person):

Game:

I think we will have the better of a physical first quarter, get well on top in the second, come into half time with a 5 goal plus lead, resist a final effort from the cats in the 3rd q, and play tempo footy in the last to win by our half time margin

Betting strategy:

I'm very keen on us making our 12 point line. Load up on the line (even money).

Half time margin might be worth having a small go at too. Back two ranges -   Dees 25 - 36 @ $7 and Dees 37+ @ $11

I can't at winning/loosing money to my anxiety levels thanks Binman

Umm, I guess the same guys (and hopefully more) that kicked all those goals against them last time?

4 headed monster? What's the inbreeding got to do with anything???!

Been slaving away over a crowbar, rake, shovel and mattock for a whole heap of today. Shower - done, and now... the wait.

I actually feel really pumped. At this time of year I'm usually reading carp about Demonlanders wanting to trade some other club gun for 2 Skyhoooks vinyls and a discount voucher at the Salvo stores. This year, I get to watch a really good Dees unit give the finals a crack. Nervous, yes, but it feels goooood! We're playing in a prelim and we are a dead set chance or winning.

Don't get me wrong, there will soon be plenty of moaning, hands thrown in the air, angry spittle flying at 360 degrees, Geelong abuse and many other standard behaviours of a Dees fan, but I'm loving this.

Carna Dees - rip 'em apart.

.... is it game time yet?

Their 4-pronged forward line.

Our backs are better.

Sitting on the hotel balcony and judging from the colour of these clouds I'd say rain is looking increasingly likely.

Hopefully not much rain

Nice, great colour on the AAA.

WCIPA tapped and a ESB carbonating. Trying to work out a new beer to brew that uses some of our left over hops.

Fritta, BB, LJ, Kozzie, TMac, Spargo, Petracca, ANB, Max, Langdon, and lately Clarry.  Wouldn’t be surprised if Brayshaw, Salem or Rivers pop up for a goal. Hope that answers it for them!

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

From the start, Melbourne’s performance against the Gold Coast Suns at Peoples First Stadium was nothing short of a massive botch up and it came down in the first instance to poor preparation. Rather than adequately preparing the team for battle against an opponent potentially on the skids after suffering three consecutive losses, the Demons looking anything but sharp and ready to play in the opening minutes of the game. By way of contrast, the Suns demonstrated a clear sense of purpose and will to win. From the very first bounce of the ball they were back to where they left off earlier in the season in Round Three when the teams met at the MCG. They ran rings around the Demons and finished the game off with a dominant six goal final term. This time, they produced another dominant quarter to start the game, restricting Melbourne to a solitary point to lead by six goals at the first break, by which time, the game was all but over.

  • CASEY: Gold Coast

Coming off four consecutive victories and with a team filled with 17 AFL listed players, the Casey Demons took to their early morning encounter with the lowly Gold Coast Suns at People First Stadium with the swagger of a team that thought a win was inevitable. They were smashing it for the first twenty minutes of the game after Tom Fullarton booted the first two goals but they then descended into an abyss of frustrating poor form and lackadaisical effort that saw the swagger and the early arrogance disappear by quarter time when their lead was overtaken by a more intense and committed opponent. The Suns continued to apply the pressure in the second quarter and got out to a three goal lead in mid term before the Demons fought back. A late goal to the home side before the half time bell saw them ten points up at the break and another surge in the third quarter saw them comfortably up with a 23 point lead at the final break.

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.
