Sunset 6.14 in Perth, so an hour of 'daylight'. How's our 'twilight' record?

I hope my daughter can stay awake for it.

I have no concerns for Nadia Bartel, she will stay awake to see it.

I hope this isn't the AFL trying through underhanded means to navigate to a permanent night grand final.

It just wonโ€™t feel like a GF ๐Ÿ™

Been to plenty of them at the South Melbourne ground. now that was an experience, at my tender age back then, trying to go home late at night after a few beers.

They had a chance to let Perth have it at normal time and give it to us in twilight. The AFL are obsessed with pushing the night grand final and from what I saw online the reaction was overwhelmingly negativeย

She will be in her element into the wee hours of the morning.๐Ÿ˜‚

She's a sneaky chance to win the Brownlow

They're running their hands together and chortling at AFL house. And raising a glass to the pandemic. They got their night grand final by stealth, as planned, without the stealth part.

not night game, mazer, more half'n'half......like 2ย separate games

make it either a day or a night gameย but not some stupid shandy

Iโ€™m neither here nor there on this one, but @Demonlandย Iโ€™m looking for our win loss record stats in night games this year please ๐Ÿ˜‚

I don't want to hear anymore about the AFL 'making the best of a bad situation'. This is about the 5th next best thing.ย

Ah well, at least we'll get 5 extra tv viewers in Los Angeles at 2am..

Ugh last year the day dragged on and if we make it this year that Saturday will feel like the longest day of our lives. I remember in 2017 going to see the storm in the nrl gf and I flew into Sydney on the day but it was just doing things during the day to keep busy and if anyone has been around the Sydney Olympic park precinct there isn't a lot to do.ย

Why couldn't it start at 4:15 there time. Who acres about the news just put it on after, or why couldn't we go a day gf. I couldn't care less about the entertainment. I'd watch it night or day and I really do not care about the lights.ย

I get sick of people trying to make it like the superbowl. The superbowl to me is about ads, entertainment then the game.ย

If we make it, Iโ€™ll be drunk by 1pm and will need a sobering nap to get me thru to 7pm.ย

Per my earlier post, Jaded, look at twilightย record๐Ÿ˜

If we make it, I donโ€™t like it. Iโ€™ll be stuck at home with the family and wonโ€™t really be able to get into it with a 3yr old and a 6yr old in bed by the first qrt.ย

I hear ya re the lights - theย way they carry it's like they only just got electricity. The roar of the crowd and the colour and passion of the fans is better than some computer program.

Our last 'grand final' win was at night, WCW, and boy did thatย feel like a grand final win for the success starved!

Getting ahead of myself though...

10-1-1.

Loss against Dogs in round 19

Draw against Hawthorn in round 18

1 loss in the 1:45ย slot (GWS)

1 loss in the 3:20 slot (Collingwood)

1 loss in the 4:40 slot (Adelaide)

Iโ€™ll get back to you on how our record is in Perth grand finals, specificallyย the 5:10pm WST time slot.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterdayโ€™s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown andย  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
