Night Grand Final 2021

They had a chance to let Perth have it at normal time and give it to us in twilight. The AFL are obsessed with pushing the night grand final and from what I saw online the reaction was overwhelmingly negative

I hope my daughter can stay awake for it.

I have no concerns for Nadia Bartel, she will stay awake to see it.

She will be in her element into the wee hours of the morning.😂

I hope this isn't the AFL trying through underhanded means to navigate to a permanent night grand final.

They're running their hands together and chortling at AFL house. And raising a glass to the pandemic. They got their night grand final by stealth, as planned, without the stealth part.

Ugh last year the day dragged on and if we make it this year that Saturday will feel like the longest day of our lives. I remember in 2017 going to see the storm in the nrl gf and I flew into Sydney on the day but it was just doing things during the day to keep busy and if anyone has been around the Sydney Olympic park precinct there isn't a lot to do.

Why couldn't it start at 4:15 there time. Who acres about the news just put it on after, or why couldn't we go a day gf. I couldn't care less about the entertainment. I'd watch it night or day and I really do not care about the lights.

I get sick of people trying to make it like the superbowl. The superbowl to me is about ads, entertainment then the game.

I hear ya re the lights - the way they carry it's like they only just got electricity. The roar of the crowd and the colour and passion of the fans is better than some computer program.

It just won’t feel like a GF 🙁

Our last 'grand final' win was at night, WCW, and boy did that feel like a grand final win for the success starved!

Getting ahead of myself though...

10-1-1.

Loss against Dogs in round 19

Draw against Hawthorn in round 18

1 loss in the 1:45 slot (GWS)

1 loss in the 3:20 slot (Collingwood)

1 loss in the 4:40 slot (Adelaide)

I’ll get back to you on how our record is in Perth grand finals, specifically the 5:10pm WST time slot.

The first round draft pick at #13 from twelve months ago the strongly built medium forward has had an impressive introduction to AFL football and is expected to spend more midfield moments as his career progresses. 2024 Player Reviews: #42 Daniel Turner

The move of “Disco” to a key forward post looks like bearing fruit. Turner has good hands, moves well and appears to be learning the forward craft well. Will be an interesting watch in 2025. 2024 Player Reviews: #13 Clayton Oliver

Lack of preparation after a problematic preseason prevented Oliver from reaching the high standards set before last year’s hamstring woes. He carried injury right through the back half of the season and was controversially involved in a potential move during the trade period that was ultimately shut down by the club. BLOODY BLUES by Meggs

The conclusion to Narrm’s home and away season was the inevitable let down by the bloody Blues  who meekly capitulated to the Bombers.   The 2024 season fixture handicapped the Demons chances from the get-go with Port Adelaide, Brisbane and Essendon advantaged with enough gimme games to ensure a tough road to the finals, especially after a slew of early season injuries to star players cost wins and percentage.     As we strode confidently through the gates of Prin

Melbourne’s most important player who dominated the first half of the season until his untimely injury in the Kings Birthday clash put an end to his season. At the time, he was on his way to many personal honours and the club in strong finals contention. When the season did end for Melbourne and Petracca was slowly recovering, he was engulfed in controversy about a possible move of clubs amid claims about his treatment by the club in the immediate aftermath of his injury. LIVE AND LET DIE by Meggs

The Demons’ impressive late season charge to finals will most likely come unstuck this Saturday evening when the Bombers blow up the also-ran Blues in the Ikon Park double-header.   To mangle McCartney, what does it matter to ya? To have any chance to play next week Narrm has got a job to do and needs to do it well.  We’ve got to give the Pie sheilas hell, say live and let die! It’s Indigenous Round for this game and the chance to celebrate and engage with Aboriginal and Torres
