Forward and midfield coaching staff change places because Gawn has no idea where his midfield is forward line has no idea where to run to its just go to a pack and hope.

Not sure about Bedford, yes he's quick but doesn't do much at all.

I rate him and think he will be better at AFL level and is ready. He wont be a high possession but he creates chances and fits our repeat chaos style. Being named an emergency shows he is not far off.

Would like to see Declase and Bowey get a chance to see if they offer a point of difference to how we play.

I’m thinking Declase would add to our team right now.  He’s physically really strong and good skills. Probably better option than Vandenburg and would love the opportunity. Declase looked good in the VFL games.

Good precis

I don’t follow the VFL - do Declase and Bowey offer run and polish?

I mentioned last week Melksham and his targeting inside 50 would help - kicking polish.
jones for composure

Yes definately Bowey and Declase upgrades

Bowey is a true footballer, smart and can kick the footy.

Weid or Daw in for Jackson (managed)

Sparrow in for Jordon (managed)

Melksham in for Anb (sent back to school at Casey)

Jones/Vandenburg/Declase in for Harmes

Hibberd just stays in. Just. Might consider Lockhart.

Brayshaw just stays in. Both on notice.

Trac to go specsavers.  Missing targets too often.

So it’s

hibberd May Lever

salem Petty Hunt

Brayshaw Viney Langdon

Melksham Tmcd Spargo

Pickett BBB Fritsch

Gawn Petracca Oliver

Rivers Daw Sparrow Jones

medi sub Baker

emerg. Lockhart Vandenburg Declase Bowey

Bowie yes not sure about Declase but has some silk about him from what I have watched take Viney out and put Gus in the guts nearly would put ANB out and Chandler in.  But doubt there will be to many changes if we go by Goodwins past.

Jackson and Harmes should be dropped. Maybe Hibbo too. Just not doing enough. Can’t have that many out of form players in the team

I was losing it at Brown missing those 3 shots when the game was in the balance but his late couple of goals saves him. He is worth persevering with.

maybe try Weed/TMac/Brown fwd line and see how that goes. T Mac out of form too but can’t drop everyone

Debuting two in the same game just will not happen.

Good team. Might be time to manage Pickett and to retain Jordan (to turn him over time into a loose cannon).

In: Melksham Weideman Sparrow

Out: Harmes Jackson Jordon

Think we are playing one too many mids with Viney and Harmes now in.

Jackson needs a rest and Weids can back up ruck and is more dangerous forward

Jordon needs a rest and Sparrow needs a run

I left out same three and brought in VDB rather than Weideman.

Week after I’d give Rivers a rest week and possibly Salem or Langdon, both seemed a little flat, but hopefully no need as they might bounce back next week!

Assuming we have been doing the loading, let’s hope we’re nearly finished it and come up ready to roll in the finals. We need to start finding some real form quickly as finals are just over a month away.

Re Spargo and Pickett that pocket/half forward role they play just lends itself to some quiet games, look at stats across the league and you will see the variance across 3-4 weeks.

Our best is up there with any team, but that’s what we have to bring. We’ve had a great run with injuries, so no excuse not to have a good final series.

This team will fail if it is not bold.

Neale Bullen had his best game by far so will stay in team.

Had been hopeless in recent games.

We’ve had 17 players play 17-18 games this year. And Petty isn’t one of them.
We haven’t really changed it up that much, so I’d be surprised if we have more than 1 change. Highly likely it is 0 Changes.

yes, id love to rest a few players, bring in my personal favs, and drop my whipping boys, but we’ve played the same 18 odd players for the better part of 4 years now - I’m not expecting us to change off the back of an ‘ok, not great’ game.

0 changes for me. But if I’m being emotional, I’d love to see Harmes take the week off and love to see Bowey get a run (but that’d mean we’d be dropping pig and I don’t see that happening).

Mate he was woeful last night.

Has this game officially being moved to the Gabba? According to the AFL fixture it’s listed at the Gabba without a date or time.

No thanks. Kid is scared of his shadow.

He should be firing like Larkey is for North!

Not sure why, but spargo  looked to be playing loose in defence last night? Maybe he had a run with role.

He played 60% game time last week. I’d give him a rest. Jackson also looks tired, maybe it’s time to have a look at Daw? He has been rucking well for Casey when he’s played?

Out: Spargo, Jackson (Maybe?)

In: Sparrow, Daw (I cringe as I type it)

If Mitch Brown was fit he would be worth a look. At least he has some craft.

Maybe Melksham could be a chance to come in as well? He lacks a pressure game but he can certainly use it.

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.
