Big difference when you bring the tackling pressure

Having a half-decent forward line this week helped too.

Or this:

We're never going to beat any of the top teams kicking 4 goals 10 in the second half of a game.

(Just in case dr d and osilik can't bring himself to post after a win like that)

Port had the better of us and put us under a lot of pressure early in the third but we showed fantastic composure and resilience  to outscore them by the end of that quarter.
A fantastic bounce back from last week.
Petty was very good with some mammoth spoils and did Gus play with one eye working only? Thought I saw that shiner and closed eye as early as the 1st quarter, brave effort.

Great win, we were much better for 70% of the game , more accurate set shots and take away some Port goals due to crappy umpire decisions and we win by 50+

Viney needs to be commended for his defensive job on Wines, he was basically a non factor. Viney offence stuff will come.

I think Port played very well tonight and despite the score...they are a tough side.

That was a big win and great to see us back to our best.

Our forward line was not empty like last week

Bb was a better option than two talls by far.

I saw a team playing premiership type football tonight.

I could tell tonight in the 4th quarter we had this game, we have a way of controlling the game when we are “on” and it is excellent. We just controlled that last quarter beautifully. A great game, so proud of the boys.

Also forgot to mention. I'm not an umpire basher but apparently HTB doesn't exist in Adelaide and most certainly doesn't apply to Motlop.

Reckon we secured Top 4 tonight. Massive win.

Yep, you’d think (not getting ahead of ourselves) that gets us in the top 4.

Gotta turn up the next 2 weeks. No easy games, especially with how we turn up against sides lower on the ladder.

Go you good things. Spargs looks like he could be saddling up for the first at Caulfield.

Ha, ha, ha, ha ....the Goody haters got to hate.

How dumb do you all look tonight???

No need to name names, you know who you are....

Hahahahahahahahahahahaahah.

Moronic posts over the last few weeks.

The season is long, we were always going to have a down period.

Hahahahahahahaha

That was a great win

Welcome to the side Ben Brown

Viney is a concern and so is our goal kicking

but a great pressure game, the same way that last week wasn’t

We must get more consistent before THE FINALS

Imagine if we ever convert more than 50% of our shots on goal. What a time to be alive that would be!

He was a concern SWYL but perhaps not as big a concern as last week imo

Meggs was super impressed with Harry Petty tonight, he thought it was the Number 35’s best game in the Red and Blue!

Ben Brown played well despite not kicking a goal.

Tmac said something like bb was really good today

Leppa said something like he has played his roll well tonight

J Watson said something like the coaches would like that he is bringing the ball to ground ground if he doesn’t mark it and bring in the smalls

Also it would have been nice if the umps at least called ONE out of about 5 or 6 push in the back frees against him.

Let the bb haters hate.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
