I think I agree, he's been flat for a few weeks but saved by a few great moments of class. He needs to regain some form.

Have I somehow time travelled back to 2019? What is this trash?

goalkicking. Frittata and trac !! Horrible misses

centre clearances  4-9

Josh kelly is a king  ? he’s absolutely smashing us   He’s elite !!

Fritsch goal

salem goal. Played on.
Tommy mcd

Giants had 3 chances to be five goals up !!!

Lifted the intensity, but not enough end product. Can still do it but unless that clearance count changes it's curtains.

Can’t buy a clean clearance. Getting what we deserve.

Our inability to win clearances is a disgrace today.

At the ground and that’s the most obvious thing. Oh, and no key forward.

We continue to lose stoppage after stoppage. Midfield coach has been absolutely slaughtered this week, and Oliver, Viney and Petracca have all been well done.

If I was a defender I’d be having some ‘open’ conversations with the midfield this week. I really feel for them.

Watch Trac at the centre bounce -  he’s no good below his knees and loses out so many times when it hits the ground -  I’d rather Kossie in there

Damn what about time on?

Not when HQ is manipulating the ladder.

Midfield bath water. Add Gawn poo, Oliver [censored], Petracca bum cheese……yummy!

He’s running sideways

Needs to stay in forward 50

Needs to stay in forward 50

Statistically the worst goal kicking accuracy club in the comp. Fritsch disgraceful, Petracca the same. I'd prefer you have 15 touches and 2 goals then 30 and 0.2 I'm so [censored] over this [censored] goal kicking. We almost have to put Salem forward as he is just about the only guy I trust to kick straight. Bloody hopeless.

Grunt v class, Kelly all class, we dont have any silk in our midfield

I agree. We've made big improvements this year but I don't see consistent professionalism and dominance needed to win a flag.

Why don’t we throw Gus in the middle? Can’t be worse.

Our midfield is getting smashed today, hoping for a repeat of Round 1 2016.

Just leave gawn FF. Jackson can ruck

Jackson also looks more likely to win a clearance

We wont win this and our excellent start has just gone down the toilet. So too has us doing any good in Sept. Premiership aspirants DONT Lose games to Adelaide,Collingwood and now Gws! Players drinking their iwn bathwater and Goodwin failing to select BB was disaster waiting to happen

At least the team is not as boring and predicable as some of the supporters....

  • POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Gold Coast

The Demons did not come to play from the opening bounce and let the Gold Coast kick the first 5 goals of the match. They then outscored the Suns for the next 3 quarters but it was too little too late and their season is now effectively over.

  • PREVIEW: Gold Coast

The Gold Coast Suns find themselves outside of the top eight for the first time since Round 1 with pressure is mounting on the entire organisation. Their coach Damien Hardwick expressed his frustration at his team’s condition last week by making a middle-finger gesture on television that earned him a fine for his troubles. He showed his desperation by claiming that Fox should pick up the tab.  There’s little doubt the Suns have shown improvement in 2025, and their position on the ladder is influenced to some extent by having played fewer games than their rivals for a playoff role at the end of the season, courtesy of the disruption caused by Cyclone Alfred in March.  However, they are following the same trajectory that hindered the club in past years whenever they appeared to be nearing their potential. As a consequence, that Hardwick gesture should be considered as more than a mere behavioral lapse. It’s a distress signal that does not bode well for the Queenslanders. While the Suns are eager to remain in contention with the top eight, Melbourne faces its own crisis, which is similarly deep-seated but in a much different way. After recovering from a disappointing start to the season and nearing a return to respectability among its peer clubs, the Demons have experienced a decline in status, driven by the fact that while their form has been reasonable (see their performance against the ladder leader in the Kings Birthday match), their conversion in front of goal is poor enough to rank last in the competition. Furthermore, their opponents find them exceptionally easy to score against. As a result, they have effectively eliminated themselves from the finals race and are again positioned to finish in the bottom half of the ladder.
