Yes - no doubt we’ve benefitted from not being at the centre of international travel and lower population density. We did have a cluster very early though, visible in the graph, and it was shut down hard and fast.

Irrespective of Tasmania having a lower degree of difficulty than Victoria or NSW, if one solitary case in 12 months doesn’t warrant at least a pass, and an admission the premier has at least two active brain cells, enlighten me on what would. 

Note: I feel completely filthy defending a Liberal premier that I voted against pre- and post pandemic, but the bottom line is our state government has kept us safe in this pandemic, and I’m extremely grateful for that.

I actually hope we can get to the game. I'm pretty engaged with the footy at the moment (obviously) and this game is the real deal. They were fluffers the dogs, with no crowd and their pathetic effort it was an anti-climax but this Friday is the game of the year. Lions are the real deal. I'd love to go.

the present rule for NSW is that you can go in but you have to isolate for the period of the Melbourne lockdown.

Lot of rules are now based on the premise that your "home rules" travel with you. Would you go to Sydney and be the only one in a mask?

This was the rule for Perth people going to non metro Perth during their recent lockdown.

If it was school holidays I think you would find Qld being a lot more accomodating. Another missed tourist period would not play well in the Sunshine State.

Just moved to Goulburn, so Sydney or Canberra I'll probably go.

It is probably not a coincidence that the states with the best approach to Covid have Liberal governments.

Tassie has done well but NSW has really delivered without shutting borders, with multiple outbreaks, with taking the large bulk of arrivals from overseas and without unnecessary chest pumping. 
QLD have been a joke and WA just drive their own pathetic agenda. I wonder how quickly they’d open their borders if we took away the GST revenue we funnel to them every year. 
As for SA... stole our 4 points last week. Gave us a lockdown this week. Pr!cks.

It's not stupid. They want to keep playing games while they can. If you give everyone a bye next week you then have to play 9 games the week after and again after that.

Using the byes over three weeks allows them to use some grounds repeatedly (e.g. SCG/Giants Stadium) to get through a week.

The hope here is that by the end of the bye period Victoria will be closer to "normal" and games can continue down here. 

Wonder why they don’t have dees play pies this week and move the lions bye fwd one week, then we play lions at g on queen’s birthday hopefully, crows can then play pies in sa also as intended

It will be flipped to a Sydney home game, there is a return game later in the year that can be flipped to a Saints home game in the hope it will be at Marvel.

Absolutely. Giants stadium would be preferable in my book.

As long as we don’t cave in and play this game at Metricon to suit Brisbane Lions, then I’ll settle with the SCG.

Any chance the NT government will provide some sort of payment to us given that they’re the organisation that won’t let us play there.

I would think something should be worked out. Can’t just pull the rug at the 11th hour but I’m no expert. Might need some act of god clauses in the next agreement.

They can't because the byes are spread out so would need to rejig the whole fixture. Brisbane have a bye scheduled next week, ours is the week after.

Agree.

Would you prefer to fly in and out of Alice Springs (if permitted by NT) or hub in Sydney (meaning better preparation) for the Lions match?

I put it that way because if we are allowed to play in the Alice it would likely be a fly in fly out situation like we did in Cairns. However if we hub for a week or two in Sydney and play at the SCG or Giants then our preparation is more settled.
