Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Being a Victorian I truly hope the grand final isn't moved to WA, particularly if the Dees make it.

I get that, and if everything is equal I want nothing more than to see the boys at the last day in September at the G, but this is a unique beast and be it Optus, Adelaide Oval wherever I want to see the showpiece game in front of a full house and the players able to share the moment with supporters and go through all the emotions that past Premiership players have doing a lap of honour in front of a crowd

You'd have to think there's little chance of an MCG GF, or else, with a really low crowd. Does anyone really want a GF at the G with 20k? Or would it be better to have at Optus with 60k and G/AO with similar...

Tend to think it'd be better to have at the Gabba or AO.

Although I've never been to WA and have some QFF points to burn, so.....

If I got a ticket, I'd take a crowd of 20,000 if the Dees made the GF. I'm sure many other Demonlanders who reside in VIC and have a guaranteed GF ticket would think the same.

If it must be interstate, I'd hope it's at a state where they'll be more likely to have opened their borders to Victoria (assuming we're over our outbreaks by then), whereby 15,000 odd MFC members can fly over for it. Western Australia is not that state and I'd hope the AFL would take that into account.

Getting my head around the Adelaide Oval as a sort of middle ground. Doesn't have the bells and whistles of Perth, but is still a fantastic stadium and might be more likely to have their borders opened to Victorians. It will take a month of no cases for WA to open up to VIC.

Sure.

They're going to want to maximise attendance? Or does MCG with low crowds the primary objective.

Assuming a snap lockdown for a week, with staged reopenings, it's starting to get awfully close to GF day.

If it ain't in Vic I struggle to see how we would be allowed to go because the very season it would be interstate is because we have covid cases in which case neither SA or WA would let us in and fair enough too because on the other foot I would not allow interstate supporters into Melbourne.

If WA were willing to look into pathways for people for interstate people to come to the game without it be a complete farce I’d be comfortable with it being moved there if needs be. But if Victoria has one case and they deem that enough to shut (which they have in the past) then I’d avoid them at all costs. Adelaide to me presents the better option, similar sized venue and have been playing ball better with other states.

Ultimately if there are two Victorian teams and they ca get the same crowd allowance as it would be elsewhere then it needs to be at the G.

I'm not sure on the logistics of flying 15,000 MFC members to Perth for the GF.  30,000 if there's another Victorian team involved which looks likely.  At 300 people per flight - that's 100 flights.  I find that hard to comprehend ...

The GF is an eternity away in Covid world. Delta can't be contained for too long so i'll be happy just to get the game played at all. If the Dees do manage to win it i'm sure we'll enjoy it just the same even if we can't attend.

And get vaccinated people. It's our only pathway out this limbo.

We might not be allowed in anywhere but if we are Adelaide is closer and logistically easier to get to. Flights would cost an arm and a leg to get to Perth so we'd have to trek over the Nullabor.

Got my second dose of AZ on Monday. Feeling a little wonky for a couple of days but fine today. I urge everyone not to waste time if you haven’t got one already. Get in quickly.

My almost 4 year old GD was having a party on Sunday looks like that will hit the fan now. She did not have a 3 year old one so as far as she is concerned she has never had a birthday party.

For me that is a bigger problem than not seeing a football game.

I feel for her OD, that is sad.

My 4yo daughter even knowing the word coronavirus is sad.  My 7yo son said that "covid is the F-word" and I said, "it sure is son"

I am meant to go interstate on my now 3 times rescheduled honeymoon in 3 weeks. That holiday is now slipping away faster than Gold Coast last week.

If I don't have a holiday soon I will probably lose my mind.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
