Jetta unfortunately looks cooked.

I was shocked that he came in...

Backline and forward lines both struggling massively. Crowd transition out of defense is putting us under huge pressure. They always have 2-3 players waiting to rush it out.

We also are badly missing Salem.

They are playing well with their short kicks.

We have shown up though.

Wow we got sliced open through the middle then.

If Salem is seriously injured, we can kiss the premiership goodbye. We look a hot mess down back.

If we could stick a tackle and keep a track of the matchups when running back we would be 3 goals up.

May has had an awful game reading the incoming ball so far.

Folks. I think we're in a game today.

Credit to the crows. they're taking the game on through the corridor.

What really cheesed me off was the moment we lost a couple of centre clearances they scored. Nothing like how we’ve been lately defensively

Can’t believe I’ve only got 3 beers left in the fridge.

And our coaches should clog that quick smart

I really do think the sun has been influencing a lot of that.

Credit to Adelaide, they have been bold. When they get the ball in their defence they move it quickly with short kicks and then get their handball running game going. I don’t know if we are allowing them to do it by being too loose but for me it looks too easy.

We had some very good chances to get some more goals but fluffed it, disappointing that Melksham couldn’t make the distance as he’s usually a better kick than that.

We’ve given up a good 2 very cheap goals, we’re in front but at 3 goals in front with 5min to go I would’ve hoped to be further in front at quarter time.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
