Weather forecast turning sour. Rain and strong winds possible Sunday afternoon.  Having 3 talls could backfire on us. North will relish it. Havent Sportsbet heard of Bass Strait and Tasmanian weather.

I bet alot of money is going on North this week. Poor weather and sympathetic umps might keep them in the game.

There are not enough corrupt or incompetent umpires to get the kangas over the line this week. Their best chance of  a win would be a volcanic eruption of Mt Wellington or divine intervention

I’m excited as anyone but I’m going in with lower expectations, if he kicks 3, has good connection with the midfielder, and gets through unhindered I’ll be happy.

So the powers that be maybe have decided that Melkshams ongoing lack of tackle is analagous to playing a deep full forward and having a three headed monster in Tmac, LJ and BBB.

Wow that's a tall forward line - not quite WCE tall but still v. tall.  Granted BBB plays more as a leading forward.

Excited to see how this affects the balance.

It's quite a bit taller than West Coast's:

Tmac (194cm), LJ (199cm) and BBB (200cm)

vs

Kennedy (194cm), Darling (191cm) and Allen (194cm)

Did you happen to watch the Richmond game? Max, LJ and TMac seemed to go alright in the rain...

What makes me smile is if you put this lot in a time trial, we would win by the length of Flemington straight, I can't remember any team that has had such aerobically fit talls. Tmac would probably be the only one that would hold his own on the bench press.  F50 Defensive pressure I reckon we win (just).

wrong thread.

Bloody oath, im on fire

Playing devil’s advocate here, if hypothetically Brown has a quiet couple of games how much time do we give him? Particularly if Weid is showing solid VFL form?

Just saw the interview BBB did today that's on the club website.

We all know he can play - but gee he also speaks well.  You can tell by what he says that he's very aware and humble - would have to be great for our culture.  How the Roos let him go for next to nothing I'll never know.

Here it is.  Don't know where the above graphic comes from, but it's gold!

Weather is sunny and 22... which city are you looking up?

Would be happy seeing Big Benny Brown or "Brenny" as Angus Bradshaw calls him kick 3 or 4 goals. I will admit....seeing "Brenny" kick a big bag of 7 or more goals would be extremely enjoyable though! I am sure he will want to prove the Kangaroos wrong for wanting to get rid of him!

Nevertheless, getting the win against the Kangaroos is far more important. I hope the Demons players remain focused and don't get too ahead of themselves and start drinking their own bath water.

Just gotta play one quarter at a time and be humble and respect our opponents no matter where they sit on the ladder.

Jackson may be 199 but he can play smaller. Brown for example plays like someone that's 200cm. Jackson is agile enough that his height isn't a detriment in wet weather. Last Saturday being a prime example.

He's OOC. If he wants out a lower placed club, lets say Collingwood, could take him in the PSD for free.

If there is a trade to be done, we do not have much of a leg to stand on in terms of demands, given he is OOC and wants out.

Going to be interesting to see if he gets a game, if he continues VFL form including fwd pressure etc, and if any success keeps him here. I mean, by all means go to Collingwood, their future is screaming grand finals to me #amirite?

Hobart forecast.

Winds up to 20 knots.

Thats a strong wind.

Dont worry ,Nth two's were abysmal last night. Melb will win by 3 or 30 goals. Umps will likely be the best three players for Nth.

Agreed. Same with Tom in current form. He's agile enough to get the ball on the ground and lay tackles to lock the ball in.

I'll set the over/under on the game time it takes for concern about his lack of tackling and pressure at 4 minutes.  Luckily, he replaces Melksham whose line is usually set at 2 minutes. 3/4 goals a game is his key benchmark imo.

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
