Coleman - 12.

Weather forecast turning sour. Rain and strong winds possible Sunday afternoon.  Having 3 talls could backfire on us. North will relish it. Havent Sportsbet heard of Bass Strait and Tasmanian weather.

I bet alot of money is going on North this week. Poor weather and sympathetic umps might keep them in the game.

where are you getting your weather forecast?

i just checked 5 different weather sites - 21/22c, light wind, <10% chance of rain

So much for sunny and 22.

Should have moved the game to Marvel.

Currently the forecast is Cloudy with a too of 19c... nothing about rain or strong winds.

Yep...North are terrible alright but so are Melb against North in Tassie.

Melb now have a much better team but im not overly  confident . If Melb win by 3 goals iD take it now.

This “Melb” you speak of doesn’t exist anymore.

Still the only player to kick double figures on debut.  A couple of others kicked nine.

For Melbourne, the best is Harry Davie in 1924 (!) with six.  Sean Charles and Brent Heaver kicked five on debut.

According to Angus in a post match interview last Saturday, this Melbourne side lick their lips when it rains, so no worries there.  As long as the team remain focused and don't get ahead of themselves, they'll be ok.

As per other posts, weather is looking Ok on 3 forecast sites including BOM.

20 degrees , slight chance of a shower, cloudy with some sun,, winds 15-20 km/hr in the morning but lightening winds  in afternoon.

We have the runners, the under and into its, the tappers, the smackers and the whackers. If it rains heavily, North will fold even quicker.

Just saw the interview BBB did today that's on the club website.

We all know he can play - but gee he also speaks well.  You can tell by what he says that he's very aware and humble - would have to be great for our culture.  How the Roos let him go for next to nothing I'll never know.

If you told me 12 months ago I'll be cheering for Ben Brown I would have told you to get stuffed.

One of my most disliked player from my most disliked team. But gees I really like him now in red and blue. Speak so well, amazing goal kicker, and how about that marvellous hair!

He was unbearable at North. The hair, the 50 metre run up, the cheap frees in front of goal, the marking every [censored] ball that was within 10 feet of him, the never missing a set shot.

How good are all those things now?  ?

So true! couldn't stand him at Norf, now suddenly he seems like a great bloke and excited to see him run out!

You just knew everytime we came up against north he'd kick a bag against us.

So stoked to have him on our side.

The line is 57.5 points or something ridiculous if anyone was taking North it would be that not H2H

Unless you take a H2H as emotional head. I mean if you stick 100 on North and win 1300 you'll be less of a blubbering mess as you sip some Balvenie as a coping mechanism.

When we first recruited big Ben Brown, I showed my 5yo son the video highlights of him kicking all the goals for North and he instantly became his favorite MFC player.  So much so, that when I bought my son a new MFC jumper the other week, he wanted the No.50 on the back, which he has hardly taken off since I bought it for him, without BBB even playing a senior game for the mighty Demons.  Little guy will be absolutely stoked to watch him run out for us on Sunday as I will too.

We've been pretty good even without an elite FF this season and I'm hoping that with BBB about to step in an dominate the forward 50 arc, that will take us to the next level again.  Looking forward to those go go gadget arms marking everything in sight and the big fella slotting through some big bags of goals for the MFC over the next few seasons.

...might even be a few more MFC No.50 jumpers running around out there over the next few years.

I think BBB was one of the prime target of players that need a haircut thread.  But just like Dogga, Hunt and Linngers, if he performs well for the MFC, he can have his hair however the [censored] he likes!

Hunt and #Positivelingers have the best hair in the competition. I will hear no bad things about it.

I recon it was because he was so bloody good and North kept beating us that spawned any dislike for BBB on my behalf.  How things change.

...now just get the job done boys.

You need to check out the talking Ben segment or whatever it was.  He's a pretty smart cookie the old BBB.  Think he did some kind of media studies, a batchelor of arts or something.

And son of a school principal, I believe.

From the forecast I just read, medium chance of showers (0-1mm) and 15/20km winds. Not too bad I would’ve thought.

Nasher and co will be dusting off the budgie smugglers based on that forecast!

The marking and goal-kicking I'll enjoy.  I'll even be ok if he flops around a bit and milks some free-kicks, BUT I'll never be fine with that silly long run up, even if he does kick accurately.  So unnecessary.

He can run from the sight screen like D.K.L. if he kicks it as far as I'm concerned....

  • PREVIEW: Hawthorn

Hawthorn and Melbourne. Two teams with impressive form from last week but with seasons that are travelling on different trajectories meet in Saturday’s twilight game for what could well be the most intriguing contest of the AFL’s penultimate round. Sadly, the game has been relegated to that unappealing time slot in the weekend when Melburnians are typically preoccupied with activities other than football. It falls between the morning's shopping, afternoon sport and recreation, and Saturday night fever. A time usually reserved for relatively insignificant events but this one is not a nothingburger for either of the clubs or their fans.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
