Got my trip down there all booked for the game and was really looking forward to getting away, but now I'm concerned. I've got until 4pm Monday to cancel for a full refund, should I bite the bullet or risk 400 bucks, and possibly end up watching the dees play north at the MCG from a pub in Hobart????

You will have company we will be going regardless

I'm hearing talk that the venue for the game next week may be changed. To Marvel maybe?

Has anyone heard anything about this?

I see Dees are $1.02 to win!

If the game ends up at Marvel I wonder if they will still allow crowds as North will effectively be midway through a 2 week quarantine process, won't they ?

I don’t think so, i assume they will just test them.  They only left the hotel in Perth to play

Several reports in past hour saying it will proceed as planned in Tassie.

North must quarantine for 14 days but have exemption to train and play.

Why would this game be re-located from Hobart.

It’s not as if the North boys mingled in the community I would’ve thought.

Tasmanian border policy - currently closed to visitors from Perth. We (Tassie) shut the gate completely every time there’s a COVID hot spot emerging. It’s been great for keeping it out but this is the consequence.

It’s hard to see Tassie letting them in however Tassie money will go down the drain and we all what talks the loudest.

But isn’t it the spread while in hotel quarantine that has been the issue?

Yep. They might make an exception if NMFC can prove they only did the airport-hotel-footy ground circuit and took all the precautions etc. I hope so anyway (as self-serving as it is to support hard border policy then suggest relaxing it when it doesn’t suit me). I really want to go to this game.

I can't see it happening in Tasmania tbh. Seems illogical and against public health advice for a group of people coming from a hotspot to not only be still playing and competing (albeit with an exemption) but to also be travelling to another state. Game should be at Marvel.

Who is the exemption from? The Victorian Government? The AFL? The Tasmanian Government? Sure Vic and the AFL might say it's ok but Tassie very well may not and that will be where the final decision lies.

Agree. They will keep it as per normal and restrict Kangas players movements in WA and on return. Hotel quarantine in an IBIS HOTEL for Kangas ??????

It's the Tasmanian State election on Saturday.

Politics may end up being the dominant factor in any decision (i.e. is the government going to make an exception for a football club to enter the State when no on else has been allowed to in the face of state lockdowns?).

I wonder how long it will be before the title of this thread is changed to just Relocation of North Melbourne.

I can't see how the Tassie government lets North in, unless absolutely everyone coming (players and staff) have returned a negative test.

If they do all return a negative test, I could still see them denying entry simply to show they're in charge not the AFL or anyone else.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
