nev was gone a year ago, we need to be getting games into his replacement

We would be if he hadn't ripped his sack in pre-season

I think we are much better this year. The balance of players is better at the foot of the ball. We’ve got some X factor in Kozzie and Trac, some in and under with Oliver and Viney, some outside pace with Hunt and Langdon, and Salem behind the ball with impeccable foot skills. It doesn’t have to be 100% manic anymore. It feels much more composed and controlled.

I also think our back line has given us the confidence to maintain our shape around the ball more, even if we lose a few contests in a row. There’s more trust.

Top post.

Its a very tempered side with different players starring each werk.

We beat them without Oliver doing a single thing. I know they had a lot down on the bench, but Melbourne of old would crumble after Greene kicks those two. We stood up and won big.
Exciting and important to be 3-0 without Brown.

COUGH...17 Touches in the second half that #13

We would have taken 3-0 at the start of the year. Having lost our 2 keys forwards other have stepped up. We are 3rd on the ladder.

Now Geelong. Lets hope we get a good crowd there next Sunday afternoon and make some noise. No excuses for a poor crowd.

Just random thoughts.

Absolutely salivating at the thought of having a fit BBB and Weed in our forward line with the way the game is being played at the moment. Well done TMac in the first couple of games, but if the style of game with the new changes stays the way it has this early in the season... look out.

I think it's pretty safe to say we all thought Kozzie would start kicking multiple goals, but his defensive work compared to last year... wow.wow.wow.wow.

Now we just have to kick the easy goals to keep my blood pressure down.

Geez, was I watching the same match as others? Playing away against a team which kicked unbelievably well for goal, got a good lead, and we buried them. This is a disappointing win?

We are winning with structure and fitness  rather than talent and performance at present. GWS threw everything at us and took their chances. That was a tough hard fought win and we again fought back and then controlled the game. Lots to work on but I will take double the scoring shots and a 5 goal win which ever way it comes. Hunt is starting to grow in confidence and Pickett is just a joy to watch. Looking forward to us sticking it to the cats on the G next week.

No clue, Giants played well, we were better stronger and fitter.

To do what I suggested would take real leadership and would make us a better team for it.

Loving the 3-0 feeling!

Ok, Ill start with positives. Langdon, Maxy and Kossie, stars - great game. Also liked Hunt's run, much more effective today.

3-0 and we haven't even played close to our best. I've seen many seasons where we have not played our best, and been 0-3, so yeah, can't argue with that.

As for not playing our best. We are still not converting. Clarry was poor in front of goal, we will need those one day. Maxy missing from 15 is not good, either. We still fade at alarming rates, example being 4 quick goals scored against us in Q1. We were also assisted today by some GWS injuries, no doubt. Got to keep that in mind. Jetta did not look good. Toweled by Green.

We will struggle against the Doggies (who tore us a new one last year), the Swans (who also made us look silly last year) and probably the Lions. Also Richmond. They will come back firing.

It's great being up right now, the wins are awesome as they give us a platform to make a charge this year, but I really hope Goody and the boys are looking at this and know that we can do a hell of a lot better, and will aggressively pursue it. We'll need to be much better to fend off the better teams.

Go Dees.

(I believe)

Nobody will talk about Jackson given Kosi's genius, but seriously how good is he? Some of his pickups were akin to Pendlebury in his prime not a ruckman in his second year. Going to be very very good and allows us to use Gawn as we please.

Agree. A star. So athletic  - and as good below his knees as any big I've ever seen.

Really glad he slotted his goal too.

And loved his move to grab the ball at centre square bounces.

Important that he rucknin the last as it allowed Max to go forward.

Good move by goody

One simple take away from this game. We wanted to see maturity and that's what we got. Turned a shaky start into a comfortable win. Pleasingly the turnaround came before the injuries mounted.

We've had 3 comfortable wins and people are still complaining what are expected to win every week by 100??

Yes.

The idea that some are suggesting we shouldn’t be celebrating a 3-0 start, without any game being in doubt in the last half of the last quarter, considering we have our two first choice tall forwards out and 5 players who’ve played less than 10 games, is frankly mind-boggling. Or incredible, I dunno. What did you honestly expect?!!!!!

17 inside 50 tackles is off the charts and I’d say the best stat I’ve seen all season. This is what wins games of football and something we’ve struggled with for an eternity.

Even at a few goals down I thought we had them covered, got lucky with their injuries but nice it’s not us for a change.

Solid start boys, Cats are gettable next week for a 4-0 start, bring it on.

What you’re suggesting is closer to the Mark Neeld school of people management.
