You can’t depend on others but at least do what has to be done that’s under your control.

This would have been a good slogan for the Swans and Freo games.

This is the problem with our club after 4 years of goody coaching we STILL don’t know what Melb side will turn up.

It’s pathetic and says it all about our coaching Dept.

I woke up with a sinking feeling today. I feel like we'll still win but it won't be pretty and the dogs will get the job done tomorrow. I've since had my first strong coffee of the day and don't feel quite so bad.

I hope you put an appropriate additive in it Rab.

The point has been made - and it’s a good one - that at least the equation now revolves around two simple matters:-

• Melbourne winning and

• Western Bulldogs losing.

There’s no pressure on winning by 5 goals or 10 goals and the players have their focus on only one thing.

Winning.

We should win this by 6 goals at least, but mfc has a habit of not turning up when we play bottom sides. Bombers got their butt well and truly kicked last match their players will be coming out to try to prove they are better than that, the question is will the mfc do likewise

In what way would the AFL want us to win?

Sunny and windy here on the GC. Light shower last night but should be ok for today. Dees will have to learn how to play in the wind.

Dogs and Swans games showed we play dumb footy in windy conditions.  ?

Last season I remember going to a Bullets v Cairns basketball game and the bullets had to win by 33 points (I think Or there about) in the last game to have a chance to get into finals.

We won by about 35 and it was one of the best games I have seen live  The cairns coach did his part to and benched his best players for long periods of the game which was great

In the end though we didn’t make finals as we had to rely on other teams to lose which didn’t happen

It never a good position to be in to rely on other teams to lose so that our team gets through.

So the Bulldogs match is still in play for finals, so tv ratings will be much better.

Add Freo to that list spirit.

That's probably more the TV networks than the AFL plus it's on Fox so good luck with that.

Don't think TV ratings are something they are losing sleep over at the moment, apart from the fact they have plenty more to worry about, ratings are through the roof.

Enjoy the ride people, I’m going to a bar with no tvs and going to eat pizza, drink beer and enjoy the afternoon.
my heart and general well-being prob couldn’t deal with watching ?

And the fact the doggies will win means it would have all been for nothing, and tbh I’ll not be surprised if we completely roll over.

This reminds me of a similar story that had a happy ending OX. In 2005 on the last day of the season Celtic just had to win at Motherwell to win the title. We (Rangers) were also playing away against Hibernian in the capital. Celtic were a goal up with just a few minutes to go and we were also a goal up in Edinburgh. Enter stage left a certain Scott McDonald. He not only scored an equaliser but also the winner, deep into injury time.

The day is known as Helicopter Sunday as the chopper that was on it's way with the SPL trophy down to Lanarkshire had to change course mid flight and head east to Edinburgh instead. What makes the day so perfect is that Scott McDonald is an Australian international footballer and he son of a Celtic daft scottish dad that emigrated here.

A little ironic that Jesse could play such an important part in us making the finals.

I’ve come to terms we want play finals to avoid anymore disappointment...as members/supporters we have become accustomed to this and rest of the footy world are not surprised, don’t deserve to play finals dropping games to lower teams especially to the Swans, the whole club inc coaches & players should look in the mirror & ask some hard questions!

After the Fremantle and Sydney games I promised that I would never trust this side again. This side does not fill me with confidence that they have week to week or collective mental resilience. Essendon have been putrid most of the year, partly injury and partly game style embedding. They are playing for nothing which in mind will be our issue. They will free wheel and we will over think it. A good side with a maturing culture would just get it done. Let’s see who can stand up two weeks in a row.

bulldogs aren't going to lose tomorrow if their season is on the line. They're not melbourne. And they're actually playing good footy.

The bombers have been awful recently and have nothing to play for. We on the other hand have a spot in the 8 in play. I expect a full throttle performance and the W. Anything else and the “Is Goodwin the right guy” thread will explode.

A whitewash will have her lady ship frothing at the mouth and rightly so IMO.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan.
